Worst college to go to. The issue is the administration and president office. First most of the time you cannot reach anyone by phone and sometimes email when you need help registering or just general questions. They take money and accuse you of things when you have evidence. They are very sneaky about things. They do not help you, they are just taking people's money. They stress students out. They ruined the college experience. They will be reported to BBB and college boards. Please do not go to this school, find a better option. There are other reviews where students have been having issues with this school.

school never answers the phone, any office, not one person picks up. emails take 3 days to a week to get replied to. I had multiple issues with them cutting the amount of grants I was supposed to receive for tuition because their estimate for my “cost of living” was lowered (even though nothing changed between semesters). i was supposed to graduate after my last semester but the professor failed me after not posting grades for the entire semester and when asked about it said she wouldn’t grade until the last week of school, I turned in every assignment and was told I got a 80% on the final (not the best grade but also not failing) and she said she was excited to see me at graduation. weeks later I find out I had failed the class and no way to appeal it. I emailed the school they said to email the dean, I emailed the dean and haven’t had any sort of reply back. Lost hundreds of dollars and delayed my transfer. it feels very shady and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB

The school, classes and teachers are amazing! Unfortunately if you have a problem with something outside of school and you have to call the school for help chances are they wont answer! For financial aid or help with scheduling your best bet is to go to the school. Customer service sucks!

Teachers are pretty much nonexistent. Can’t get a hold of them, worst decision of my life going here, wish community college never existed and you could just go to a real college that grades your work accurately

The only college in United States that doesn’t give students a designated place to study, they took in so many students this semester that now there is no place to park, No place to study while the tuition is going up. The library only lets students study for one hour and it’s impossible to get through any class with one hour of studying. This is insane.

I’m actually so disappointed. I’ve been going here for years already, and finally I moved into my own apartment. They need information from the school and school will not answer emails or calls. I’ve called, left voicemails and emails. Nothing. It’s just sad. Every time I go up there, they are rarely doing anything, so why is no phone calls being received?

You can reach no one at this school, and guess what happens when you leave a voicemail or request a call back or an email. Yep you guessed right. Absolutely nothing. School is going downhill faster then a landslide.

Lake Sumter State College is a phenomenal learning institution. My granddaughter is taking business classes here in a classroom setting and online. I have taken some medical classes online dabbling with a possible career change. Everyone is helpful and cares about the education you receive no matter what level that is.

I’ve been calling nonstop for 2 days now, trying to get ahold of admissions or just ANYBODY. If it’s this difficult already just to ask about enrolling, then I can only imagine how it would be as a current student. A school with no communication is already a RED FLAG. 🚩 onto the next. …
