Happy to send my child here to get gen eds before finishing at a state university. Every employee we have met has been wonderful to interact with so far.
Great Staff, Wonderful Environment, A Very Photogenic Building/Landscape! For those looking to acquire the college legs, Black Hawk offers a wide variety of classes, clubs, sports, and more! Black Hawk is also one of the more affordable schools in the area! As a student, I would highly recommend BHC to anyone of all ages!
Blackhawk is a beautiful college that is expanding rapidly. I had the privilege of being part of this expansion. I was putting together all of the new welding booths for their shop classes. I'm very pleased and impressed that they have classes for welding. It's very important to promote our trades. I've been welding for about 28 years and it's made me a lot of money throughout my career as a local #111 ironworker. It's nice to see such a great college realizing the importance of maintaining the quality of craftsmanship in our country. I say Bravo to Blackhawk! Well done!
The instructors were very informative and friendly. I feel more prepared for my future and am grateful for the experience.
Last year my husband kept submitting the more info thing on the website and no one ever contacted him. Over 4 months he would call and email both locations and no one would respond. I thought maybe it was just him. For last 2 months I keep emailing and submitting the form online. Nothing. No response. It just wants me to sign up for classes. I just want to know the price of a course! This is ridiculous. He wanted to start a course and they didn’t even care enough to respond. They lost the opportunity to get thousands for him to take the welding course. They don’t care. You can email admissions, financial aid, etc. no one will respond. Why even have their emails listed then? If you request more information and insert your contact details why does no one contact you? No emails nothing. I’ve gone to 4 colleges so far in my life and this one has the worst ‘customer service’ most schools are so eager to help you so you can sign up right away and give them money for the courses. Guess even money isn’t enough to get a call back.
Staff isn’t too friendly. My main complaint is about one of the hawks hub workers at the checkout. He’s blonde and wears glasses if I remember correctly. Every time I have to go down there he is rude and acts annoyed by my presence. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a hello from him. I don’t think people have to be super happy all the time at their jobs, but at least be polite. The college is a ghost town half the time anyway. Other students I have talked to have complained about him as well.
Absolutely amazing college! It's amazing how much they are willing to help students out. There's scholarships to help pay for tuition, and programs that can even help you out with book/laptop expenses. They even have therapy sessions for anyone who's stressed and may just need to vent! Black Hawk is amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone who's trying to get a fresh start and looking to get ahead in life
Advisors are hit or miss. Once I found a good one, I made it a point to always ask for her. Most of the professors I've had are good, although some are rather quirky (to be expected, I guess.) The terrible downfall for this college is some of the financial aid staff and registrar staff. They are patronizing, dismissive, not helpful at all, and have an attitude problem. It's as though Black Hawk doesn't realize that these are the first people that most students are going to come into contact with, and those same people will set the foundation for the student's first and lasting impression. Insert exhausted sigh here.
Great place to get started. I earned my associates in arts with a business focus here and it was a great experience. It isn't your typical college seen because you've got people of all ages going to school with a lot of different backgrounds.
It's ok. I mean it's every community college that exists is what it is. The annoying thing is they're completely lack of an IT department. They say they have one I've never managed to contact a member of their IT department in years over several times trying. I've always just giving up and found another way to solve my problems because they don't seem to exist.
Wonderful education environment, especially for students who are unsure of their their future occupation. The professers are all willing to help, but you gotta take the extra step to see them after class hours to receive the help needed. …
In the fall of 2014 I signed up for classes to start my future. Following my fafsa being denied I dropped ALL my classes within the same week. Black Hawk West Campus now has sent it to collections which is haunting me 4 years later. I was …
I was there yesterday for my Accuplacer test & everybody was so nice & made me feel so welcome. Everybody was so just so incredibly helpful.
Only had to go there to take a test for a job. The people were extremely nice and helpful and the campus was very nice.
Ample parking, three building areas. The administration building is the one in the middle by the traffic lighted entrance.
Great except I got written up for doing class work on lab computers
Very professional, informative, and friendly. Nice campus, with a great student body!
Hey Hi everyone I am looking for shared accommodation near to this college , can anyone share leads
All the staff are helpful except the financial aid office.
Nice community college. Fairly standard, but still nice.
