4stars because I think I may be a great school. The only reason I didn't pursue the admission further is because I have to take the prerequsites online, and I know some science courses are something I needed to take in person because I would struggle with the online learning format. I wouldn't want to take Chemistry or any math course online...that would be setting myself up to fail. It would be better to take easier non science courses online and then take the heavy science course on the Campus. I have tried the online format , it never worked as you mostly teach yourself. Again, it was a bit discouraging that some of my courses that transferred as other schools didn't transfer to Rasmussen and it was like retaking courses I already have. I do not see any tangible reason some of those courses wouldn't. That spelt unnecessary extra to me. But hey, it is their school, their policy and I respect that.
If I could give negative stars I would. This college is very money hungry. You'll be lucky if any of the credits you paid for and completed are able to be transferred to an actual university or community college. Please think twice before ever considering this school!
This school is a for profit organization, keep that in mind. You will be teaching yourself mostly because most of the teachers read off PowerPoints and when you ask for clarity they will they you “that’s something you have to figure out”. The school does not assist with making sure students pass because they actually get paid more if you fail courses because you have to repeat and repay because your core classes don’t transfer to other schools. I give this school a firm 0/10 and I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I am deeply disappointed with my experience at Rasmussen. It has become painfully clear that this institution is more interested in making money than in providing quality education or supporting its students. From the moment I stepped foot on the campus it was evident that the focus was on collecting tuition rather than ensuring students receive a meaningful and supportive education. The administration is unresponsive and unhelpful, and any attempts to raise concerns or seek assistance are often met with indifference or outright dismissal. The quality of instruction is equally disheartening. Many of the professors are unprofessional and seem uninterested in their students' success. They frequently display a lack of respect towards students. Instead of fostering an environment where learning and growth are encouraged, these professors often make students feel undervalued and ignored. Lanita Wynn is the worst instructor Rasmussen could've ever hired. She tells her life story and wants everyone to know she was one of R Kelly victims. She talks about the students to other students and the other instructor to the students. She brags about the students reporting her and nothing is never done and laugh. She don't teacher she tell you to study the test banks. What’s particularly frustrating is the lack of accountability within the institution. Despite numerous complaints from students, nothing seems to change. The school’s primary concern appears to be keeping the tuition checks coming in, rather than addressing the legitimate issues raised by those who are supposed to be at the center of the educational experience—its students. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Rasmussen to anyone seeking a supportive and enriching educational environment. Until the administration begins to prioritize the well-being and success of its students, this school will continue to fail those who trust it with their education and future.
My experience at Rasmussen University has been an overall great experience. I received a great amount of help during my enrollment process thanks to Todd (Mokena/Tinley park). Rasmussen has offered me the best advising experience that I have had throughout my college career.
My personal experience at Rasmussen has been pleasant. The staff is amazing. The instructors and my advisor ( Mike P, at the Mokena campus) are extremely resourceful. They do their best at teaching a preparing you to be a future nurse, however, they give 25% the other 75% depends on you, your hard work, and dedication. Being in the ADN program has been very challenging however, it’s worth it. Rasmussen is extremely high paced and very demanding, it is important to understand that you will have to make sacrifices when it comes to this program, you have to be willing to study and have great time management. Read, Read, Read, and did I say READ! You will learn if you don’t know ready the importantance of reading. The journey will not be easy however, you can do it. Overall, I highly recommend this school to future students that are looking to advance their career and education.
I super LOVE Rasmussen University. My enrollment process for the Nursing Program with TODD was the absolute best. It was smooth. He answered every question & concern I had, every email and returned every call. The staff & students are such a delight to be around.
My experience with Rasmussen University(Romeoville) location has been exceptional. My enrollment process was timely, corrective, and facilitated with my academic plan as the main focus. The onboarding staff was extremely knowledgeable and physically active in making sure all my needs were met. The staff is very encouraging in the process of my success. Thank you Rasmussen University.
I would like to express my gratitude to the staff who supported me throughout my educational journey. The teachers here (Mokena) are smart and have a lot of real-life experiences to share. I am grateful for Jessica, Mellissa, and Morgan in career services who continued to check on me after graduation to ensure a smooth transition into my new role. Today I am proud to witness how my life has advanced since I enrolled at Rasmussen University. Enrolling at RU was the best decision I've ever made and I am forever grateful to you who supported me along the way.
As a current student at Rasmussen University I would recommend the school as an excellent choice! The staff is dedicated to helping students succeed. They provide each student valuable resources to make reaching goals is attainable to all students. Many of the professors are phenomenal in their teaching skills. Professor Eddings, is one of my favorites. She exhibits such a passion for teaching and nursing. She strives to make sure each student is prepared to implement the skills in the real world. Many other professors including professor Rapavich, are dedicated to enhancing the learning environment with their teaching styles. There are some kinks along the way but given the fact that we are imperfect I think that is to be expected. Even so the advisors and other staff are determined to address any concerns one may have. I feel that overall the school is well preparing me for the field of nursing. The curriculum is well prepared and the resources are there to ensure success.
