My daughter who was a year old at the time had to have her blood drawn for the first time and i was so nervous about it. We went to the hospital and the phlebotomist was so nice, she put me at ease and did such a good job of making it quick and painless for my daughter and i both.i told her i was about to take a phlebotomy course and when i told her it was at Acadiana area career college she immediately said thats where she went and she loved mrs tasha! I started and finished my course with mrs. Latasha moore and i love her also. Mrs. Tasha is incredible. She is a hardworking woman, devoted to her career, community and family. She has so much patience while maintaining a professional attitude. I was not the best student by far but she went out of her way to make sure that i had all the tools and tips i needed to pass the course and be confident in myself when applying for jobs in the future. She is a real inspiration to me and always will be. She didnt just teach me phlebotomy, she taught me how to succeed in any position i will have. She taught me how important it is to show integrity when i see something that is unethical. And lastly she taught me to be respectful and compassionate while keeping a professional demeanor in the workplace. I will always have a special spot in my heart for her for helping me grow into the strong woman and phlebotomy technician that i am today.

I became discouraged and figured college wasn’t for me. I was a stay at home mother of two and life got super busy. So here i was 9 years after graduating highschool and i was still lacking the confidence to even look into furthering my education. But with a bit of motivation from family members i looked into community colleges in my area. I called slcc and immediately the first person i spoke to had the tone of voice that led me to think she might be questioning her own position there. She answered all of my questions and got me signed up. So here i was discouraged once again and about to giveup on a better future for myself and my children. I called acadiana area career college where i was greeted with mrs riza cantu. She had such an inviting tone and actually sounded so very passionate about her job and giving students information that i instantly just from our first conversation, was filled with hope again. She told me that i could complete my classes no problem and that i would have plenty of time to makeup for missed days if i had to take time off for my kids. She made me feel so good about my decision to get enrolled. Mrs riza answered so many of my questions with such a caring attitude & assured me that i would be in good hands. Had it not been for mrs riza and her drive to help others and to get people involved in doing something great for their futures, i might not have ever felt confident enough to make such a lifechanging decision for myself and my family. I will forever be grateful for acadiana area career college and the dedicated staff that works there.

I absolutely loved Ms.Mel! She is an amazing teacher, and she’ll do all she can to help you succeed in a good career. I had an amazing experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher! If anyone is looking into becoming a Dental Assistant, I would recommend going through this program with Ms.Mel.

I highly recommend the phlebotomy course. Ms. Tasha was a phenomenal instructor and always made sure we were on track. I passed the national exam with absolutely no problems. Mr. John and all the rest of the staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

Before I took one of the courses I made sure to ask if they were gonna help me find a job afterwards, I completed the classes and they never made effort to help after

This is only an introduction to coding, to be competitive you have to certified in coding, there’s so many different variables
