I wonder where do u start. Teachers don’t teach and mean at the same time. Helpdesk doesn’t help. Trying to get student ID good luck the camera is always down. Grade? 😂 no they only be posted after a few weeks so you think you can catch registering for new classes that’s A NO 😂😂😂 what a waste of money …
I don't recommend to go here ,took them a year to get my degree after I did a 2 year hvac class. I didn't get invited to the graduation ceremony either and when I left there I couldn't even hook up a furnace had to learn om own
Worst community college ever. I had issues with my account and decided to call them(they never answered) this continued for 3 days until someone finally replied, but they were no help and super rude. So I decided to go meet with an advisor there, I ended up waiting 1 hour until I got mad and decided to just leave.
Recent events: 01/16/2024 A "situation" waiting to happen! The pictures are what is supposed to be a clear and safe walkway. I tell someone (I guess in charge) about the situation, and all HE wants to do is appear to be UNCONCERNED and states that HE saw the "maintenance crew" put salt out. Well, guess what? It looks 👀 like YOU missed this! Do ANYONE see a SAFE situation within the pictures? 03/24/2020 This is by far the worst place to try to get information. When students call for information regarding their account, it states to call student accounts. NO ONE answers the phone. Students are asked to leave a message. Students leave several messages over a period of time, and NO ONE returns calls. Students are to graduate and NEED information to help students. We go in person to speak with someone in students' services. The people at the downtown campus were nice. We called the number that was given (District Financial Aid), and the person (male) that answered the phone was no help and rude. He stated that he would pass the information along and when asked how long it will take? No answer. He was reminded that there are 34 days left for the semester. He was asked 30, 45, or 90 days? or 2 weeks or 3 days? Still no answers. Students call to get answers, and students get sent from place to place. WCCCD needs to make an area for student accounts. Maybe if there's a section for them, students can receive faster information. Disclaimer: Not all staff are HORRIBLE. Those who are HORRIBLE make it harder for the ones who do ASSIST students. There should be a list of the staff members who go above and beyond. To be HONORED. The HORRIBLE staff's picture needs to be posted on a wall.
Administration & Financial aid really ruin the whole experience, professors are great and classes are smaller and the workload is manageable but financial aid and administrative departments are terrible, they are not very helpful and act like your an inconvenience to them by asking them questions or suggesting they do their job.
A great institution for higher education and certificate training programs. They've also just opened a new entrepreneurship center @ the downtown campus!
Updated Review (8 Years Later): After 8 years, I can say the service has improved, and I’m glad to hear it. Original Experience: I gave one star originally, and that one star was for the professors — they are hardworking people who truly care about their students. Unfortunately, the school itself was the worst college experience I’ve had, and here’s why: Financial Aid Delays – Every semester, my financial aid took forever to process. I was constantly told I was “randomly selected” for verification, which happened so often it didn’t feel random at all. Unprofessional Administrative Staff – The administration and financial aid staff at both the downtown and western campuses were consistently rude and unprofessional. Lack of Academic Guidance – Advisors never helped me with class selection or provided meaningful academic direction. Unwelcoming Environment – The school was disorganized and made me feel unwelcome, as if they were paying for my classes instead of me. Unprofessional Leadership – The Vice President at the downtown campus, Richard, was one of the most unprofessional people I’ve met. When I went to his office for help with financial aid issues, he told me not to go to college at all. He raised his voice at me, refused to assist, and even told me my questions about his role were “none of my business.”
Very bad. I paid to go to this college. I graduated with my associates degree last year. I called them a couple of times because I never received my diploma. - They FINALLY sent out my diploma AFTER NEARLY A YEAR and it was a small paper. No sleeves or anything. Usually when you graduate and get your diploma it comes in a nice little holder with the schools marking and name on it. I know because my brother got his associates from here. Either they cheaped out or they are just lazy and it shows. This action is just disrespectful to not just me but AL STUDENTS WHO STUDIED.
The low ratings that this school has received are well deserved. Seeing is believing. The financial aid office is the worst (this is the downtown campus). I'm surprised that no one has been fired (and that is the problem). One of the people who work in that office is only going to tell you that he is not there to help because the office is "self serve". His job apparently is to point to the sign, that he made, stating that. On my second visit I had to listen, for more than a half hour, to them complaining about a student who they felt was problematic because the student labeled them racist. The self-serve sign pointer's response was " she doesn't know what she is talking about because we treat black people bad too, probably worse". I also had no choice but to ask a woman who worked in the office for help. The first thing that came out of her mouth was "ain't no body going to help you every time you need to get into your account ". She was apparently annoyed that I was interrupting their conversation about the problematic students complaint. I hated the fact that I needed her assistance. The financial aid office is a disaster with the exception of one individual. Before any of this, when I needed help finding the office I was inconvenienced by a woman who worked for the school. She was standing close to the office when I asked for the room number. But, she insisted that I go around the corner for directions. It made no sense whatsoever.
