High Point University

It's like no other school I've visited before. Their marketing should be studied! Beautiful campus with lots of amazing resources... the food isn't bad either. Experiential learning at its finest. So far, I have nothing bad to say about High Point.

HPU was impressive from the first time my son set foot on the world’s most beautiful campus for a tour. He was ready to apply by the end of the tour. He recognized the special culture and atmosphere HPU provides its students. He is getting ready to finish his Freshman year and is looking forward to next year already! HPU made his transition to college as easy as we could have hoped. Their small class sizes, fantastic faculty and staff, beautiful campus, and of course the best college President. I never saw my college President until graduation! Dr. Qubein is always walking around campus and attends sports events for the school! They extras provided to students to best in class from tailgates with food, food trucks, or trips to Big Sputh championships it is never ending. They truly care about their students. I can’t imagine my son attending anywhere else. I wish I could go back in time and attend HPU!

This school is amazing, my son is finishing up his junior year and I can tell his growth from high school until now. I am so glad my son choose this school. The campus has been very welcoming from his very first tour to now.

Why does the President of HPU use Dr. in front of his name when he did not earn a doctoral degree? To earn a doctorate, one must complete a bachelor's degree, followed by a master's degree, and then a doctoral program. Doctoral programs often require rigorous coursework, comprehensive exams, and the successful completion and defense of a dissertation or thesis. The bio page of the HPU website indicates "doctor". It is misleading for a college President to use the formal title of "doctor" when the degrees are all honorary and not earned through the education process.

This is a comment on the type of students you might run across at HPU: After retiring from public education, I worked at HPU for two years as a study hall monitor in the athletic department. The students I met during my time there were courteous, disciplined and hard working. 99% were great kids! In truth, I believe they bucked the stereotype that "all HPU students are spoiled rich kids.". They have demanding academic and practice schedules.

HPU is a beautiful campus. I don't have anything bad to say about the campus. From the moment we stepped foot on campus, it felt safe. The campus has a welcoming environment, every worker we encountered was friendly, and the campus was clean. They have everything you can think of on-campus for students, and we got a sense that they care for each student as a whole, not just as an academic number.

High Point University has been an amazing experience for my daughter! From the moment she started, we’ve seen incredible growth in her confidence, academics, and leadership skills. The campus environment is beautiful and welcoming, and the staff and faculty truly care about the students. The opportunities for personal and professional development have been abundant, and it’s clear that HPU is dedicated to student success. We are beyond grateful for the positive impact it has had on her life!

Advertised Lee Greenwood concert but for over a month, did not give any other information about tickets or anything. I watched closely and even called just to get a voicemail. Left a message and number inquiring but never heard back from anyone. Traveled a couple of hours and paid for motel room but when we got to the University, the security guards knew nothing about it so they radioed a few people who knew nothing about it either. They said he was there earlier for a graduation commencèment but, knew nothing about a concert. I showed them the ad so they let me in. Could never find out where to go for concert that was clearly advertised. Wound up going back to hotel and home the next day. A little more organization and information would have really been helpful. Very disappointing.

We visited High Point University while we were in town visiting family. The guards at the front gate were outstanding and welcomed us and provided us a booklet and a map to tour the campus. The campus and grounds are amazing. I highly recommend a visit and look forward to returning when the campus is active and not on spring break.

My son is a freshman. He believes that High Point has provided excellent academic experience for him. Administration is friendly and caring about delivery of excellent service. My son has a lot of friends, and he loves his dormitory and its food. Overall, it has been an excellent experience until now. I hope he gains more academic knowledge and confidence as time goes by.
