My 8year old Border Beagle had a cancerous spot found on his jaw during a routine dental cleaning at his normal vet. After visiting multiple animal surgeons, NCSU was the only animal hospital in the state that felt they could successfully perform the surgery. We’re a little over a year out from surgery and my pup is doing well and cancer free, living his best life. Thank you to the whole team and staff at NCSU Veterinary Hospital! Im very thankful to have my best friend healthy and by myside!
The experience you have in places like these are mostly up to who you interact with. On this visit, we had a great student and vet. Both were very friendly and attentive to our (quite extensive) notes about our dog's symptoms. They worked hard to get her the specific test we wanted, even though that department was past the time when they accept new requests. Afterwards, they explained the results and all of our options. It was also clear that our dog was well taken care of. Taking off 1 star because of our experience with the ER department in late 2020 that was inexcusably horrible.
Our 10 year old German shepherd had back surgery for a ruptured disc two weeks ago. We are thrilled with the results. We took her to our regular vet, who said she needed an MRI. She called all over the state trying to find a place that could do it quickly. NC State got back to her that afternoon and said they could, so we rushed her there that night. The next day they did the MRI and did surgery immediately after. She spent two more nights there recovering and then we brought her home. Her care there was wonderful. They were great at explaining everything and spelling out the follow-up care she needed, as well as calling to keep us updated on how she was doing. She wasn't able to walk when we took her in. Now, two weeks later, she is walking well. She has a long slow road to full recovery, but we're thrilled with how well she's doing post-surgery.
Farm animal vet: I had to make 2 emergency trips (3 hour drive) here for my goats. Very clean place. Dr Mitman and her entire team have gone above and beyond with communication and care for my Goats. She is very honest, compassionate, and extremely patient with any questions we had and they answered professionally and with so much respect to me and about my animals. I never once felt judged when arriving with my sick animals, and never felt pushed or pressured into doing extra services that weren’t necessary for them. They kept my goats comfortable and advised what is best for the animals. They also let me see them before leaving them overnight for treatment. I’m so glad we were referred to this hospital for our animals. Thank you Dr Mitman and entire team for your compassion and hard work around the clock.
We are so thankful to NC State Veterinary Hospital, we took our ferret Biscuit, there by recommendation from our Vet. She swallowed a staple, we drove 4hrs to get there and from start to finish they were wonderful. They kept us updated every 30 minutes on her surgery. Dr. Megan Roeder & Dr. Sarah Ozawa, thank you for taking care of our baby, she is doing great and playing with her sister.
I have nothing but good things to say about the care and compassion that was shown for Bailey. My sweet Bailey had an emergency Saturday afternoon after he swallowed a sewing needle. We were referred to NC State Veterinary Hospital for an endoscopy or surgery if needed, to remove the needle. The staff was very friendly and helped us through a scary situation. During the endoscopy, they retrieve not, only the sewing pin but also two other objects that were a little larger than a quarter but had a very hard jagged edges. Thank you for taking such good care of Bailey. We are so grateful that we had a good outcome. 🙏
They were amazing! We had to take our girl Nori about a week ago and everyone was nothing but kind to us. The vet was gentle and explained everything to us so well!
Absolutely horrific behavior and lack of caring about our cat. Took our cat in on Sunday and took over 3 hours to get help and medicine for the cat. Got multiple hundred dollar payment. The medicine has made the cat worse. We called this morning and was asked to send pictures of what is wrong with the cat. That email was ignored for hours and hours. Said we needed to bring the cat in. After an initial look at the cat, the cat and owner sat over 3 hours without a technician and/or doctor coming to tend to the hopefully not dying cat. Egregious lack of concern and care of an animal and his scared humans.
So i have used these vets before and never had an issue, I had someone call me to setup an appointment to have my horses euthanized and she is telling me that they can't help me. Isn't that your whole job? Im in a tough situation and have now reached out to 7 different vets with a call back from 2 that do not deal with equine at all. Smh. Sorry excuse for service. Im livid! I will be spreading the word everywhere for the terrible service that I just received
My fiancé and I are eternally grateful to NC State for the extraordinary care that they provided to our perfect boy. Dr. Souza goes above and beyond. She is thorough and brilliant, and loved our sweet baby as her own. We are so grateful for her kindness and care for our precious Monkey, as well as the entire team. We are forever grateful to NC State.
