Started my educational journey at NEC around 2017 so some information might be dated. Multiple programs completed here over the years, and have been considering enrolling in another one. There isn't a class I disliked. Most professors are extremely professional and exceptional educators, easy to get ahold of. Over time experiences seemed to improve. Liked their old system with Bisk a bit more for online student payments and admin tasks, however Blackboard has become more user friendly over time. Folks have asked me if this is a real school as it's not as well known- and I'm glad to say it's very real, with a very lovely campus right next to Pat's Peak where I personally learned to snowboard over the years. If you've seen info somewhere for the school's online programs: book an intro call. It'll be worth it :)
Gorgeous small liberal arts college where the professors and administrators work hard to give every student skills to succeed.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this school!!!!! It doesn't exist for students, they just want to exploit international students of their money. Wow and their tuition payment policy is absurd, you have to pay in full within the first week of classes else all your access and records will be terminated. Schools that actually have the students interest in mind give you until the next semester or session to balance your account. This school will threaten and harass you with calls and emails even when partial payment has been made. They only want your money. Beware!!!!
We're a retired couple with no connection to NEC. We just love to eat there, whether it's dinner or brunch. It's one of the very best dining commons of Southern NH colleges.
First red flags when someone from businesses office called me about my daughters tuition for precollege which I had already paid. Ignored it when it once I got it cleared up because my daughter really wanted to go to their precollege program. They did NH Institite of Art dirty. My daughter loved her precollege experience in Manchester at NHIA and she was so looking forward to going to that school for the quirky campus and great atmosphere. When NEC took over NHIA, they said they would keep the school open, and take good care of the historic buildings the NHIA was housed in (and the endowments that came with them) Now there is no Manchester art campus, and no one at the school is interested in explaining to me (or to former NHIA students and alumni I have spoken to) why.
The college itself might be ok, but the company they use to handle their online classes, Bisk, is absolutely terrible. TERRIBLE. Will never attend another school handled through Bisk. EVER. NEC's online classes were hit or miss. A few had really amazing professors who you could tell truly loved their job. The discussions and assignments were college level and what you would expect. Others professors seemed to be there just to collect a pay check and the class felt more like high school than college. Additionally, you can expect to be thrown in with students who would have benefited from some remedial courses before being thrown into standard classes. At best I felt like I was attending a dingy, sub-par community college. Wouldn't recommend, especially if you really want to learn something.
Though I experienced technical difficulties due to moving during my masters program the staff and professors worked through it with me. Top rate professors that actually work in their field, I found was beneficial. Great people and I am looking forward to graduation.
I believe I made a bad decision in registering for this college online program. Before applying, they said there were going to be video lectures from professors, but the professors seems little involve in the online classes. In the first week of my first class, the professor asked us to read a total of 6 chapters, a case of 18 pages plus a big reviw of these, he also asked us to do the 20+ questions at the end of each chapter and plus 2 more writting assignment. All do the same week. Oh also you need to write about 3 discussion boards and review 2 classmates work. I understand college can get serious, but this is overly ridiculous and poor management in the college and professionals side. I'm getting out once I finish my first class. They lied to me to get me involve in this program so expensive.
At first I absolutely loved New England College, until I found out they are full of malarkey. It's like most places, you are important until we no longer need you. I have attended New England since January 2010 as graduate student. I have exhausted my student loans attending here because the tuition is very expensive. I recently finished all of my course thanks to Kevin Martin who assisted me with an issue I had. I was getting ready to repeat an entire class for one letter grade. Once the classes were completed;it's like I no longer exist or I am no longer important since my financial aid has ceased with my exit.. I can't get anyone to answer the phone or emails. I asked for job placement assistance because NEC advertises they will assist and the help I got was a link to an NEC website that offered me nothing. I am grateful to God I have graduated but sorry New England is the place I graduated from. I almost convinced my daughter to transfer here but I am glad I saw the realness of the organization before that happened. I am not saying every person that works here is cold and unfeeling but many of the ones that I have met are. I am soooooooooooo very glad I am done with New England and I pray they will begin to live up to the mission statement that's visible on their page. Thank you to the staff whose character live up to the mission statement.
Some of these negative reviews are just ridiculous. I am a junior going through Bisk doing online courses in NEC. Bisk is good and yes, there have been a couple errors but was quickly fixed. But, their educational system is great and I would recommend future students to check it out.
