I had a highly positive experience with New Mexico Highlands University. Having attended multiple colleges and universities to obtain various degrees including two masters and certifications, I would confidently recommend NMHU. Currently residing on the East Coast, I earned my BSN from NMHU. Although the initial process was somewhat challenging, particularly in coordinating transcripts from seven different institutions, the enrollment process, class registration, and academic quality were outstanding. The IT support team was very responsive and efficient. My nursing professors demonstrated a high level of expertise and were very supportive; they responded promptly to any questions and were always willing to conduct meetings via Zoom or video chat. The workload was manageable, even for full-time working students. Overall, I had a very positive experience and strongly recommend the RN to BSN program, regardless of your location within the United States. The program is excellent and provides good value for your time and investment. Class of 2024.
I have had a great experience at NMHU. Each and every person I have interacted with at the university, from the registrar's office to the technology help desk to the staff at my local branch campus seem to genuinely care about the success of student. The professors are knowledgeable, and add real world experience to the curriculum. They go out of the way to ensure the each student gets everything they want to out of the class. They also crave feedback, and appreciate ways to improve what they are teaching. That was a refreshing change from academics who are certain they already know everything. The best part for me, as a self employed mother and serial volunteer, is the ability to complete upper level classwork in an online environment, without sacrificing the quality of the education. The ability to replay a lecture, get instant feedback with online testing and submit work electronically has made this a far superior learning environment.
Despite being originally apprehensive about the small campus, I was almost immediately won over by the friendliness and support of NMHU School of Business professors and staffs. Almost all of the classes are infinitely interesting and professors here genuinely care about their students. Online classes give a great opportunity for non-traditional students to pursue higher education in a more accessible way. The department on the main campus gives off a warm and friendly feel where professors, staffs, and students know each other and that we are a part of this great community. I am given so many opportunities here that I would not be able to acquire should I have gone to a different university. For that, I am forever grateful.
I really have enjoyed my experience at New Mexico Highland University. The first and most part that I like about Highlands University is the quality education that they provide for such an adorable rate. I really like how nice and helpful all the staff have been. One of the major positives for me was in the bookstore they give you the option to either buy or rent your books which was a lot more affordable for me. Another major advantage that Highlands provided me with was distance learning courses. My only complaint would be that getting a hold of staff is a littler harder or takes a little longer sometimes. And their website needs work to be more user friendly. Overall Highland University was a very positive experience for me. And I would recommend anybody to consider getting their education at highlands New Mexico University.
The undergraduate business program at NMHU is a hidden gem. It is also one of the most affordable programs I have found. The staff is so knowledgeable in their fields and extremely willing to answer questions you may have regarding what classes to take in order to best prepare you for your future goals. Classes are small within the department, allowing for a great learning experience. Professors have wide ranges of expertise and experience in the business field and are always willing to give guidance regarding education and career goals. I was incredibly lucky to find it.
NMHU has offered an exceptional program to it's students (particularly the school of business). I have had great experiences with almost all of my professors and fellow classmates, and learned more than I had expected through taking online courses. The school is very diverse which is something that is rewarding to see as a student, and the incorporation of that into student programs makes this school very profound in its own way.
As an online MBA student, I appreciate the quality of the education offered by NMHU. The classes I have taken have been interesting and relevant to the business world. For the most part, the professors have been very helpful and supportive. The flexibility of the online classes that are scheduled for working adults has made it possible for me to pursue by MBA while working full time. I appreciate the efforts by the professors to create community for online students. I have also really appreciated the support I receive from the NMHU Farmington Center. It is nice to know that they are always willing to answer a question or solve a problem.
I have been attending NMHU off and on for a few years now. I think the advantage and dis advantage of the program is the on line classrooms. The advantage is a flexible schedule and the ability to take your classes from the comfort of your home. The dis advantage is I do miss being in an actual classroom. It takes a lot more effort to stay focused at home then it does in a classroom. I am happy I am able to finish my education though since I work full time and for that I am thankful for NMHU.
Upon graduating from High School I was recruited for Track and Field to NMHU. Born and raised in Las Vegas my initial thought was free school, finish as quick as possible and get out of Las Vegas. I really had no clue how college actually worked, how scholarships worked, what classes to start with, where work study was available, etc. Thankfully, I had an amazing advisor and the staff at NMHU was happy to assist me along the way. One thing I did know was that I wanted to complete my degree in Business, but I didn't know what concentration I was interested in. Again, an amazing professor led me toward a concentration in finance which I loved then and now work in the finance field which I also love. In looking back what begin as ONLY the financially conscious option turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only did I eliminate student debt, but I was paid to go a school where the staff and faculty cared about the success of their students!
I have enjoyed my experience at New Mexico Highlands University. I chose NMHU because it allowed me to continue to work full-time while pursuing an MBA. I have been very impressed with how interactive classes are. Not all professors have taken advantage of the webcam feature, but now that it's been used in my last semester, I love it because it really personalizes my education. I feel connected to the university, professors, and students. Although some professors are hard to reach, some others respond to you very fast. They are very knowledgeable in their fields and are willing to help out anytime you ask for help. Without NMHU, I wouldn't be able to pursue an MBA at this time.
