Sunday Sept 21, 2025, I attended the NSU Ladies Soccer Game against Missouri with my daughter, son-in-law, and 2 granddaughters (who both play soccer). It was a great game and we sat in the bleachers on edge the whole time - not over the game but about the dogs allowed in and on the bleachers. I have only this one disappointment, that is: spectators were allowed to bring in their "pet dogs" and were also allowed to sit in the bleachers with their "pet dogs". I have nothing against pets of any kind, but my youngest granddaughter is highly allergic to dogs and suffers from eczema and pet allergies. When the family with a "poodle-breed" proceed to sit next to her, we told them about my granddaughter's conditions. My granddaughter immediately became anxious & had to move away. The other dog (black lab of sort) was just a few people away from her on the other side and barked throughout the game. My question is, does NSU have a policy about pets at events and in the public seating areas? It was a challenge for my granddaughter to enjoy the game from the stands and eventually had to move to the ground area where there were no "pets". I understand that a service dog is an exception, but these were not service animals. The lady sitting next to us with the poodle-type dog, kept saying he was hypoallergenic, which means nothing to our family. My hope is that NSU will more closely monitor animals at public events, and possible post notices about which animals are allowed and where the animals can/cannot be during an event.
Amazing campus with a spirit so strong. It's incredible. Love to teach or coach there one day!
NSU is nice, small school. I'm currently taking a gap year, but I'm a student at Northeastern State. I started in Spring 2020 and started my gap year (which is now looking to be a gap two years) after the Spring 2021 school year. I'm not sure if I'll return or not if or when I decide to go back to school. Regardless, I love the campus and I love Tahlequah (even if there's not that much to do there). If I DO decide to return, hopefully it'll be with more confidence and less social anxiety so I can have plenty of fun continuing my education at NSU as well as living in Tahlequah.
I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors in Business Administration. I graduated and received my diploma.16 years later NSU sent me to collections for an $800 course I never enrolled in. I contacted the bursars office, they refused to help me. The collection agency "Key 2 Recovery" refuses to acknowledge my disputes. This university is a joke, which is obvious when considering their 99% acceptance rate. Do yourself a favor: go to OU or OSU, or even U of Arkansas. NSU is a clown college.
I love delivering DoorDash orders here I love if my regular route just happens to take me around and about the campus and I love how clean every thing and everyone is. It’s just a great vibe altogether with great people!
Lived in Wilson Hall. Most classes in Seminary Hall where Grandma Brooks (Jenny Falling) was housed in around 1913 as a placement of the BIA due to her mother passing. She ran away 3 times because the teachers told her they would cut her tongue out if she spoke Cherokee... I graduated in 1991 from the School of Social Work. The campus experience was quaint and spiritual... I visited today 6.12.24 and cried as I sat in front of Seminary Hall. Not sure why. I wasn't happy or sad... none the less it was a blessed visit. My grandson wants to attend NSU but they don't have a nursing program on campus...only online!🧐 I want to find my grandma's name listed somewhere!🪶
Flabbergasted by the state of the art facilities at the school of optometry, thank you Jenifer for the tour!
Son took classes there, he messed up his financial aid and ended up owing for the difference a little over $2,000. NSU added $600 to take his tax return and another $600 in "collection" fees. They are supposed to help students but would rather curb stomp you and your financial freedom. Don't worry I paid it and reported it to the attorney general. Definitely a school I would avoid.
Really terrible experience with the staff. An hour late to their own meetings. Scrolling on the phone while I talk (about how my father died when I was 19). I took my time and money elsewhere, and I suggest you do as well. These guys have their noses in the sky and big heads. I promise, you can do better. I got my Bachelor's and moved forward, despite how I was treated at this institution, another put me in a leadership society, opening me up to notable alumni and scholarships. If you are grown, have children, and work this is absolutely not for you. This is for children with financial aid and athletic scholarships.
NSU is the worst school I've ever been to. I was so excited and happy when I got accepted, but the smiles were all fake. When you ask for help, the teachers seem to pin the blame on you for not understanding. Also, they don't work with people who have disabilities. I have a learning disability that is very difficult for me, when I ask for help I get told "how do you not understand something so simple?" NSU has made me feel horrible for even being there every single day.
I am a current student at NSU-BA and I absolutely love going here. It is easy to get to, has the small school feel, has great cost of attendance and is full of amazing professors. If you are considering attending, come check it out! The individualized attention you receive is worth every penny!
Nice, quiet college experience worked well. Many professors who will accommodate health issues without going through the disability services. Fast & easy no hassle -- I didn't need a lot but it was beneficial and I was successful in my classes.
My wife is a military veteran and they have made it incredibly difficult to not only give credit to her JST, but also to use her GI Bill. We will be transferring to a different school at the end of this semester. Kind of abysmal how they …
I LOVED my time at NSU! It is seriously such a great university! It's big enough to meet new people everyday, but small enough to know people anywhere you go and get really involved. The student to professor ratio is really great and you …
I would give them zero stars if I could. Absolutely awful school do NOT go here unless you want to learn nothing and get the run around from the staff. They treat you like you're a joke when have legitimate concerns and will do nothing to …
I will not allow my son to attend your college next year... because of the simple fact that the on-campus dorms are not monitored. My daughter's current roommate has had 2 separate full time boyfriends living in …
The staff at NSU BA are wonderful! The custodians are kind and do a awesome job at maintaining a clean facility. It amazes me how hard they work while keeping a positive attitude. Thank you!
This college is full of teachers who believe in the success of their students. It has beautiful campuses and lots to offer for many fields of study. If you are considering a college, I would recommend NSU to anyone. 💚 …
great location, very close to highway, good admissions dept. most instructors are great. Dont reccomend instructor Kimes in Library Dept. Vauge on many details and assignments and gives what seems to be a lot of just busy work. Other than that great experience.
One of the finest institutions in Oklahoma. Faculty and Staff are kind, professional and excell at what they do... As soon as you enter you feel at home with a warm friendly student base and facilities...
