Please do research and read reviews before enrolling your child to attend. WORST SCOOL EVER! Move in day was so unorganized and the dorm (Daniel Hall) was obviously the oldest dorm there. Not clean and no air conditioning. Dorm room doors being kicked in when students are gone for the weekend. My son’s door was never fixed. Admission ladies very rude to my son. Coach was very unorganized. Horrible coach. In person classes canceled a lot. No teaching just giving work. The school states they do not discriminate but people working there do. The lady working in dorm calling my son “white boy” (my son is mixed race) The amount of money I have paid to this school is sickening for him to experience all of this. So glad he transferred.

The worst school ever. PLEASE PLEASE do your research before letting your child attend there. Graduation rate 16%. Teachers don’t teach them. Coaches act like the students. Very very unorganized. They recruit these students as if they have a great school and it’s horrible. Fights all the time. Drugs etc. you name it it happens there. The Dean is ghetto and so is Dr. Marshall they don’t know a damn thing that goes on that school. They’re blind to everything. Orientation is the worst I’ve seen. Totally unorganized the blind leading the blind.

I went to this school in the 80's. Everyone one of us on campus was family oriented. We loved and looked out for each other. We're there some that was different yea. But we took care of each other. So to all My classmates in the group of 1983 to 1987 much love.

Texas College, Tyler has a terribly low 12.4% graduation rate, with only 4% of those students graduating on time according to many college/university rating sites. One rating site actually stated that "Texas College is one of the worst education establishments in the western world". Following graduation, students have an average of $21,624 in loan debt. Considering the six-year median salary is a paltry $23,400, it may not be much of a surprise that 23.3% default on their loans. Save yourself some time and money and choose a school that will give you a chance at least.

This is the worst place to send a student and your money. The staff and administration are unorganized and in no regards timely. There is not a clear communication to anyone. I cringe every time I have to pull on to campus for class or to ask them about something that should have been taken care of months ago. Texas College does not conduct like any other school I know of. The employees do not take pride in their jobs or helping the students. I have attended this school for two years praying that each semester gets better. It never does and I will not be giving them any more of my money

My high school looked better than this college. They do have good, hard working teachers. The football program is horrible. The people are cool if you're used to a hood environment, it was a lot of fights. They need build on to their dorms so that so many people aren't left out of the campus life, i would also recommend co-ed dorms(less fights) and stop treating the students like children (dress code? Really!!!). Also they need a bigger athletic department budget, or to just get rid of it and add it to the schoo or something...

I dislike the fact that majority of the male students are having to live off campus in a old nursing home facility , with mildew in the tile ceiling , sleeping on run down dusty mattresses that look as if they found them in the garbage dumpster , dead bugs on the floor ,Wall Panel to bathroom door look as if termites is eating a way at it ,and having to share a closet big enough for one person . many of the students are without transportation depending on the annex bus to get them to and from the main campus for class on time ( which is over crowded at all times ) No student should have to live in a Old Nursing Home where many elderly sick people have died . Texas College can do better than this I'm sure.. Students traveled from a far such as California, New York , and etc to study at this Historically Black University to sadden by the thought of housing in an OLD Nursing Home..I must say that there is nothing historically about the Rose of Annex ..Nothing at all . I pray that those Students don't get sick from the dusty old dirty mattresses which they gave them paper thin mattress covers to put over them ..Speechless.

This is my son first year on the campus however Thursday evening September 21, 2017 I attempt to walk out the dorm with my 6year old grandson and unbeknownst to me, walked into an altercation with a young man making DEADLY threats to another student trying to walk back into the dorm. There were NO security near the dorm and the Dorm/Den monitor was elderly and could not have controlled the situation alone. There were other students that deflated the situation and didn't allow this ANGRY young man into the dorm after he made Deadly threats to this particular young man. I deemed these young men that deflated the situation men of valor! My concerns is to the Director of the campus, President, Dean of Students etc. How are you going to handle this situation and deflate this young man thinking of Deadly threats to students to have his (homeboys) drive to the campus and shot the students he threaten? How will you protect our children (young men and women) on your campus that travel near and far for an EDUCATION not to be killed?? Why is it that there's not TRAIN officers to assist the dorm/den monitors both male/female? Officers that are not fearful and won't gun down our students? Please respond Respectfully submitted, CONCERN Parent
