I've had an excellent experience at Northern Virginia Community College - Alexandria Campus as I work towards my AS in Mathematics. The transition from in-person classes to Zoom-based learning was seamless, and I appreciate the flexibility and convenience of remote classes. The professors are exceptionally professional, always engaging, and responsive to questions, whether during live sessions or office hours. As a student who's had to adapt to a new environment after moving, I found the online classes particularly helpful in maintaining my academic progress while adjusting to a different lifestyle. The support from both faculty and administration, paired with their commitment to student success, truly reflects their motto, "Start Here. Go Anywhere."

Not about quality of education here but location other amenities are good, lot of parking easy access, calm campus though close to DC.

If you’re considering going to nova, you’re better off taking an online course or going to any other campus than Alexandria. The advisors in the office are beyond rude and impatient. There are many language barriers so good luck trying to get someone to actually understand you. They lack urgency for their students, they’re inconsiderate, and it’s very hard to actually meet with any of the advisors in person. The professors are also the same way at this campus, very impatient, rude, and insensitive. They also make plenty of mistakes in their lessons and assignments. Alexandria Campus claims to be supportive of mental health but that is false. They don’t actually care about your mental state and even after providing information about any of your conditions, they simply disregard you. Do not come to this campus if you want to actually learn and get credits.

An exceptionally good and accommodating environment for educational purposes.

Nova is not a good community college. It’s honestly the worst college I’ve been to. I can’t even recommend this school to anybody. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE.

The school is good. Has too many bugs though, that should be fixed ASAP. Otherwise the bathrooms are always kept clean and so are the classrooms. The cafeteria has recently been renovated with better furniture. As for the teachers, Just look them up before you take the class. That is really in your own hands, not the schools fault if you get stuck with an outrageous teacher.

NOT FOR VETERANS: I toured the campus with my son recently. The tour was great. But we have been trying to get help with veterans issues since April. They said I had to email, but they wouldn't reply to my emails. Then I called them again, they gave me a number where I supposedly could talk to a real person. I left a message; of course they never called me back. Finally they had an open house and we took the tour. It seemed that it would be a good fit. Until we got to the lady who deals with veterans. All she would say was he needs his educational benefit letter. She wouldn't talk to him about anything. We have since found out getting that letter requires you to make permanent choices and he needs some help deciding how to make those choices. Supposedly the schools veterans person is supposed to be able to help with that. But that is apparently not the case here. We still don't know what to do and can't get any help with it so I guess he will not be going to school this fall as we'd hoped.

Lovely environment, the students and staff are welcoming. So diverse in so many ways. Professors, for the most part, always want you to succeed. Wish this community college was a 4 year uni I would stay and graduate and would be proud of studying at Alexandria. NOVA really places their students first and I hope they keep it that way. Young teens start here with a good mind set and a merry heart, with that being said you’ll have a joyous time.

The work study folks don't always seem to care, and of course gave me a fair amount of incorrect information as well. Also some of the ones at the bookstore while I went prior to starting the Fall 2013 semester was not really the best, giving me ripped receipt and such. Any who I definitely do believe they can do better or train the kids at work-study somewhat more so they can be more caring and helpful with correct information. Aside from that the actual campus is alright. Not luxurious nice but decent and clean but decent enough to be a college campus. Now I'm not ecstatic about this place but neither am i resentful for coming here.

This school is excellent. I came here for continuing education. The classes here are on par with the four year engineering school that I attended a few years back. Like every school, you have good teachers and you have bad teachers. My experience at the school was very good. The teachers were very helpful and the structure of the class was very organized. The facilities were up to date as well. Excellent choice for any college student who wants to save money and acquire the same degree.
