My wife attended SVU and loved it. She valued the education she received, the friends she made and the quality of the professors. This university is centered on Jesus Christ and academic excellence. I have watched as students thrive due to the high quality of education and immersive student life experiences. SVU also has DIII NCAA athletics.

Our family just became a Knight so far the experience has been outstanding. Transferring from another school that my son didn't have a great experience there was some hesitation . We are super excited and looking forward to the future...

As a second year student at Southern Virginia University I have had an excellent experience enrolled in this unique liberal arts university. The class sizes are small, which leads to one-on-one time with the professors to truly understand the courses. Having been to many other colleges (and growing up in one my whole life) I have never been in a more wholesome, uplifting environment. Their are classes, clubs, activities, institute classes, and teachers all built around helping each student become the person he or she needs to be to have the career and life they have worked for.

Beautiful campus, small class sizes, higher education with a personalized feel. I'm impressed. As an update, our daughter is thriving in the close knit atmosphere this school provides. Her professors know her by name and recognize her around campus. She's having a great experience. Thank you SVU!

I recently graduated from Southern Virginia University, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I, like many, took out a student loan to pay for my education, and I would do it again and again. There are so many opportunities that come from being in a private, faith-based institution where small classes provided a custom education to me. The faculty is amazing, and the campus job I got as a student turned into full-time employment. I felt like I was lifted in many ways, and really found who I was while I was here.

I went here for my freshman year of college. My SAT/ACT scores would have predicted my getting a 1.9 GPA. I not only got a 3.69 GPA, but I was on the track team and a part of an a Capella group. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I attribute it to the ideals of the school. I wanted to learn and my professors were amazing. It challenged me but wasn't cut-throat competitive like many larger institutions. I personally needed the small class size and professorial attention. It was a perfect place for me to start my college education.

If you are looking to get the most out of your college experience, go to Southern Virginia University. The education you will receive is worth the money you pay for. You'll probably go from this review page to look at the school and see that tuition is higher than you'd like and you'll get freaked out by all the negative comments and on and on and on. Listen, this university changed my life. I met people here who taught me how to think big. The professors can't be matched. You will not get the amount of personalized attention at any other school that you do at SVU. The athletics programs are fantastic. I graduated high school thinking I would never play football again. Southern Virginia University gave me 4 more years of football. The student body is a close knit community of people who are all grinding their way through college just like you. They are a great support system. Some of the most caring and understanding people I know are friends that I made at SVU. Bottom line, the school is worth your time. You'll double whatever amount of work, time, or money you decide to put into it.

Coming to Southern Virginia University has been one of the most important decisions I have ever made, and perhaps the decision I am most grateful for! The time and money I have invested in Southern Virginia University will be returned tenfold through the course of my life! I know that being a Knight and living the principles that are taught here will allow me to become a successful husband, father, and future leader. Southern Virginia University provides a top tier liberal arts education. The professors here are astounding and they will stop at nothing to help students. Of course programs could be better funded and parts of campus are in need of repairs, but the education is excellent. Because of Southern Virginia I was admitted to my top 5 graduate schools and able to pursue a career in the area of my choosing.
