Just passed through while in Lexington, and it was very clear why it is considered very prestigious. It is a very pretty campus, with aged trees and bricks, many beautiful porticoes on the Southern-style buildings, and very friendly people. I enjoy the visit, and I would recommend a stop for either history fans or if you are a student looking for a university, this is a good candidate. Cheers.
One of the most beautiful college campuses you’ll ever see. School stands out for its faculty who are dedicated to undergraduate education and its incredibly talented student body.
Here on a Sunday morning. It is so peaceful and serene...almost as if I am walking on hallowed ground. I wanted to come for perhaps my last visit to Wahington and LEE University before it and Robert E.'s legacy is completely destroyed.
Beautiful campus. Wish the town's streets weren't so narrow...
Exceptional. The campus is beautiful The staff is amazing
One of the most beautiful universities in America!
Washington and Lee enrolls students who hang on to their mainstream identity in a world where the mainstream has disappeared. These kids are lost, confused, and bitter. This school will remain irrelevant if it does not modernize.
Take walks around an enjoy the walk bridges. Also during xmas they have the tree lit up wich is awsome.
What a great campus! Such a beautiful setting and in a charming town. The old Academy was cool to see. I really could imagine how life was like on each floor of the building.
Ever since I was a child going to both Elementary and Lyburn Downig Middle school having family that worked here and went to school year's ago. But the atmospheric presence of this university was really relevant. When I was born here I went to childcare underneath the Episcopal church and my High School art Teacher Mrs. Kleinchester was also one of the teachers in childcare with some of the Professor's kid's that I grew up with. Because my last name is real rare around Campus. Am not trying to intrude or nothing but the Poindexter name has been around Washington and Lee for along time," from the mid 1960's to the 1980's Campus Kitchen since I was 20 year's old been apart of it. I went to swimming Camp here since I was 5 to 8 year's old by one of our Alumnus. I've always been apart of the W&l family since Elementary and been affiliated for along time like a sharks tooth. Eversince 2006 my uncle Earl Poindexter WORKED here and retired he served in ww2 and retired from postal service and W&l since I was 21. He was a security guard here back in the 1980's Ring thum Phi archives. But this history came way before we started having certain people & Student's here at our Universiry because most of us have a certain lineage at this prestigious University but our facilities are socially inept eversince it been down at this magnitude for decades ago.
I'm a patriotic person and I'm inprestice with places like West Point, Anapolis, and Washington Lee University. It's our American heritage. Gives me goosebumps just like when I see the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldiers at Arelington.
My name is Patrick Hilton Poindexter II I'm a certified local who was raised on w&l soil at 5 yrs. Old . This university has a rich tradition and history do to the civil war ever since the late 1940's we have the finests facilities that u can ever imagined. Our Professor's are the best educators that u can ever dreamed of having .
An excellent education. If you get accepted and your family income is under $70,000, you can attend at no cost, even books are free. Strong values.
I love Washington & Lee the University and the Men. Barely a day goes by I don't tell a story about both thes amazing men.
Graduated in 93. Best place ever. Would reenroll tomorrow if I could. Solid academics and only taught by full professors. Very strong alumni bonds.
My brother is a W&L alum. I stopped in Lexington to try to purchase him some Washington and Lee gear for Christmas. I was surprised to find out the the only place to buy W&L clothing is on campus in the Student Union Building.
Graduated 1979. Daughter class 2018. Excellent education and experience for both of us. You really get to know your professors well.
Really good place to go if you want to be in a small class room setting and have knowledgeable teachers. Graduated in 2018 and I defiantly got my moneys worth.
Visit the chapel to see the sarcophagus of RE Lee. It's very impressive.
Great School, Great Campus, and an unbelievable history
