Great university to attend and gain knowledge and real world experience in the field of your choice. Beautiful campus with many parking. My cousin attended here and got her degree in Communications. She says the program (her professors) prepared her for workforce and made her learning experience a pleasant one. She credits her academic advisors for helping her with internships and job placement. I also remember her talking about how U of Alabama Huntsville helped her come out her shell to meet nice people from all backgrounds who have become lifelong friends. This a great university with rice history to find your true calling in the world. A+

The overall atmosphere is toxic among students and professors alike. There is favoritism, backstabbing, unhealthy competition, false accusations, cliquey behavior, and an overall sense of disgust for anyone who doesn't fit their culture. There is also a lot of discrimination. Don't expect title IX to protect you here. Also don't expect the ADA to protect you either. Stay far away.

This college is a hidden gem here in North Alabama. The area is beautiful. The campus is nice and clean everywhere. Constant construction and continued growth should be the norm for this campus for several years to come. My money and my kid goes to UAH. GO CHARGERS!!!!

Advising is horrible if your in engineering. Not very accommodating for students that focus better on a one on one meeting than back and forth emails that take buisness days to get back to. If the issue is too many students wants one on one advising, just hire more advisors, you're a big university, do better for your students and their future. We want guidance not more confusion on top of all our studies.

I found international admissions communication to be the worst among 30 universities that I applied to. I can't find where to complain or request another admissions advisor. Nobody tries to listen and help international students' issues. This is my experience when applying as an international transfer student to UAH, and it's been a month since I applied but no decision has been made. One time she tells me we didn't have your transcript; the same person tells me your application is different for next term; then she marks my application complete on the portal and tells me to resend your transcript. I'm running in circles. They're not taking student's futures seriously.

Be warned, if you have ANYTHING come up and need to drop classes 8 days after the semester starts, YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE ENTIRE SEMESTER. This includes medical issues, financial issues, and even a death in the family, which will still need to be taken to the board of directors to even consider not charging you for classes you had to drop. So, if you are going to have an emergency during the semester, you better have it before the 8th day, or you're screwed. And you will not be able to register again until you pay it off. Edit: 10/2024 Apparently, they now have a pro-rated drop policy that was implemented in the Fall 2024 semester.

Great place to go if you want to off yourself. With professors and staff that don't really care about your academic success. And good luck when you form depression from this research facility, because when you want to apply to talk to a counselor you get put on a wait list for a entire year. And once you decide to end it all they all be like "there were no signs wish he/she would have asked for help."

UAH is not a good school for commuters due to lack of parking. Parking fee is $140 plus $25 for your first parking ticket and $50 for subsequent tickets. And you will receive tickets because the campus police purposely troll parking lots to give out tickets to commuters, knowing that there is not a parking spot for each commuter. The initial fee and tickets are a blatant money grab and should be illegal. They oversell the spots, much like airline flights. UAH probably includes parking ticket fees in its annual budgets. Example of how it takes advantage of commuters: on the first day of class, when everything is always chaotic, all the parking police were out in full force giving out tickets (plus they parked in student parking spots, making the shortage even worse.) The first day is their best chance to bring in parking ticket revenue because later, after some students drop classes, a few spots might open up. Giving tickets on the first day of class is like penalizing middle school students when their bus is late on the first day. Out of a sense of decency and understanding, that never happens. Someday there will be a class action lawsuit. Finally, it should be noted that the parking appeal form makes you certify every possible reason for getting the ticket is not the reason you got the ticket, precluding you from appealing.

Great value. There are achievable scholarships and high ranked class. 2019 incoming freshmen class average act 29. The dorms all share common area(4 people room), but you have your own private bedroom and share a bathroom with only one person. Depending on your dorm it could be very old and in need of repairs. It is safe but not the best looking. There are great professors for the most part (like any other place there are also the questionable). Over all one of the best values for college.

Terrible school. The food is good but only server very few hours so it’s hard to schedule classes around it. The half the professors don’t care the others only care that you pass. The on campus living facilities are garbage and half of them you can’t even do your school work in. And there is no reason for them to have so much security on your canvas and portal that you can’t even login for a week straight without it changing.

Parking is garbage. They give us no room, as commuters, to park. Then they give us tickets for parking "out of zone". Just another way this place is grabbing for money. I pay thousands of dollars to go here, you think they'd actually give …

Poorly managed institution that only really cares about engineers. Apparently severe financial strain is not a good enough reason to be exempt from their overpriced meal plans.

I'm a visitor and they have a pretty good looking campus, but UAH has this funny road closure going on in front of Morton Hall. Makes it so that visitors not familiar with the current campus aren't sure how to get where they need to go. I …

UAH has a beautiful campus with great new facilities. During my day long visit I was very impressed with Charger Union, and particularly charmed by their open ping pong table. All the students and faculty I met were very friendly.

I got my Master's at UAH and enjoyed going to school with some of the brightest people from all over the country. The university continues to grow and improve, and when you graduate, you can find a well-paying job in the area.

This school is undergoing a rigorous marketing campaign at the expense of the student. The administration needs to understand that students don't come to UAHuntsville to party they come to get a degree. UAH is always constructing worthless …

I graduated with an aerospace engineering degree in 2009. When I started there in 2004, everything was great. When President Franz (I think was his name) retired, and king William came in, UAH started a downhill swing. Just glad i got out of there with my degree, and only had to deal with William's corruption for a short time.
