Visited one time with family members. It is a beautiful place and an ideal university for someone who wants to get a good quality education, while living a smaller city. The campus is well organized and centrally located to different shops. I feel like a person would enjoy this environment while receiving a good education
Picked my daughter up for the summer. She is a senior. Good school.
Provided opportunities I would have never gotten if I had not attended, I met Life long friends and had the opportunity to visit them in there hometown. Ive gotten job opportunities because of Alumni that attended. It was just over all a lifetime great experience that I'm glad I experienced thanks UAPB
This school has the WORSE financial aid department in my opinion that I have ever experienced, they awarded me someone else's scholarship, did not notify me until a month later, and then hassled me about reimbursement (plus informed me that I would not be able to start the next school year until it was paid). Incompetence is an understatement. I thought I would love my experience at an HBCU, but I am now wishing that I would have just stayed in Conway.
Came to UAPB as a 20 year old first time college freshman from Washington DC. The culture shock and attitudes of the people here changed my life for the better. Guess I can say that I gained some perspective. I didn't know one person when I showed up here and the faculty here really looked after me like I was a relative. Glad that I made that 1100 mile move for that one year.
Don’t go don’t attend if you need financial aide spent months on the phones with the incompetent worker of the financial aide office. Everyday a new piece of information was needed or a paper that was already send in was lost. Over 3 times I had to pay to refax papers that were already send it. Also very non helpful they will sigh in your ear and don’t give you any helpful info just basic information to get you off the phone. I’m a first generation college student who did everything on his own and because of these sad miserable workers in this office I want start college until January. Go to a better HBCU like Bethune Cookman or VSU , Harris Stowe cheaper tutition and way better service. THEY ALSO MAKE STUDENTS BOOST THEIR REVIEWS ON HERE
If I could do my years there all over again I still would not change a thing. The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff provided the necessary tools for me to receive a quality education. I love my UAPB Family. My HBCU Rocks.
I loved my time at UAPB, this school gives you a quality education with a personal touch. UAPB cares about its students and will go above and beyond to help students achieve their educational goals. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose UAPB.
Please do not participate in events like the Black College Expo and get these kids all excited by awarding them full scholarships on the spot, yet you do not follow through on your offer. This school does not answer emails, does not return phone calls and is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Im an HBCU graduate but I am very disappointed in UAPB.
I couldn't get financial aid at the time. They sent me several months later a letter saying I didn't drop the classes so I owe them 1000+ dollars. I know for a fact that if classes aren't paid for they drop you from them. I'm not paying for classes I didn't take. It doesnt help that financial aid don't know how to talk to you. I really wish SEARK was a 4 year college.
