I do not recommend AMDA to any incoming student because I had a terrible experience there as a 1st semester I ended up leaving the school early right before my fall semester because I did not feel safe in the school with some of the roomate issues I was having with some girls trying to bully me and tell me what to do it became a serious matter to the point where constant verbal altercation broke out several times and I reported it and they never did anything except came in the room and act like they were mediating the situation but also entertaining what was happening at the same time I had to switch my major from MT to Vocal performance because my MT teacher was humiliating me in front of the whole class while nobody did nothing I remember crying on the phone to my mother about it and I remember at the very end right before I left my roomie was moving out and she was mad because she had to leave after the issues we were having she cut my led lights then she took my body wash and dump it out and put water inside she then took the curtains that were in the bathroom etc…. The people here at AMDA are very unprofessional I wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone and they finesse people my advice to you guys would be if you are u actor dancer singer and would want to pursue your dreams in the arts DO NOT CHOSE AMDA choose another school and make sure you do your research before you sign Anything!!!! Overall I left and I will be attending another college back in my home town. Please guys don’t waste your time trying to spend your money on this school it’s really a waste of time a lot of the kids that attended Amda before me told me they don’t even know what they’re going to do after they graduate or what job they’re going to get so please be mindful. And some of the kids that attended AMDA they graduated and they now work in the AMDA cafe

I moved my child to California from Florida just for her to attend this school. My child started in the spring of 2023! I’m a single mother the school offers scholarships but most people don’t get full scholarships they get partials. I had to take out an additional appeal to get more money from the school just so that she can attend and I still had to turn around and get three parent plus loans for my daughter to attend the school. By the spring of 2024, my daughter was struggling in classes. The school offered no support even though she reached out saying that she needed help. They offered no tutoring sessions. They offer nothing. My child attended this school as a young mother. We definitely informed the school that she was a mother. We tried to get scholarships that were for minorities as well as single mothers. They had no resources they had no one that we can talk to, and they put my daughter on academic probation in the spring of 2024 without proper notification to me as her mother as well as to her directly in her personal email. By the summer of 2024, I had to take out another parent plus loan for my daughter at to attend the summer and fall courses and yet she was placed on another academic probation in the summer of 2024 without knowledge! She still struggled in classes she reached out and told the school she wanted to drop a class. The school did not listen to her and then they turned around and academically kicked my child out of school in October 2024. As a mother, whose child has always wanted to attend this college since she was in the fifth grade, I am highly upset that I have wasted years on getting Parent Plus loans and giving it to this school for my child to feel like she had no support from none of the people who are supposed to be supporting her at that particular school. Even when it came to her being placed on academic dismissal, she did not get the paperwork until the 15th of October, but yet they removed her from the school system on October 4 who does that. I will highly recommend other students and parents to look into something more affordable for your child. AMDA is a private school and in my experience they’re all about money they do not support their students. They do not offer tutoring. They do nothing. Now we’re living out in California for my daughter to attend the school and now she stuck trying to figure out what other college she can attend because she didn’t get the resources or the help she felt she needed from AMDA . I highly recommend people to look elsewhere before you get into debt going to Amda.

I was trying to audition them for several weeks and I didn’t even get a chance to audition for them. Their time organizing is terrible and can I try to go to a live performance they gave the wrong address. I am sad to say I would probably not recommend them.

AMDA, a school where you can pay upwards of $50,000 to continue taking introductory level acting classes that are no different from any drama classes in any high school. They require auditions but accept 99% of applicants. This in not a cutting edge school where you will learn from the best about the industry and how to succeed in the industry, this a school where they hire working actors who know how to act but do not know how to teach, therefore students leave with very little knowledge about acting. This school is money trap, it has a nice look and good advertising but once you arrive at school it is very obvious that all this school wants is your money. I lived in a an over crowded room with three other girls and cockroaches and mice. I was not supported as a student and did not get what I needed to succeed. Most students who attend this school do not engage with the material at all and spend most of class on their phones wasting their money. If you want to be an actor, dancer, or musical theatre student after high school do yourself a favor and go somewhere with better values, teachers, and students.

Ordered transcripts so I can start school where I live now and put them on rush order. I received an email saying they were sent but the school I intend to go to never got them. This was months ago. I’ve called and emailed everyone in admissions and in the registrars office. No one is getting back to me. This has been going on since MARCH. It’s like they have absolutely no regard for past students who wish to further their education outside of their school. I cannot get a psychology and English as a 2nd language degree through their school meaning I NEED to attend a new one. They’re not doing anything to even attempt to get in contact with me regarding the transcripts I PAID for.

It is a money making enterprise. They have taken money without delivering a quality education. Dropping students who can’t afford being there year round. Some times a student might need to take time off to work during the summer so he or she can return during the fall yet that student is not allowed. Their motto is “take the money and run.”

Great studies but unfortunately they like to place students in the same class room with their abusers that they already have a no contact rule with. Yes abusers walk freely around campus. AMDA you guys should really do something about that. Not a great look and very scary. Keep it a safe space.

AMDA is a one of a kind performing arts school for singers, dancers, actors and triple threats. An amazingly talented student body with professional faculty who are active performers of past and present on Broadway and in Southern California. The students have an incredible energy and passion about what they do, and all students are transformed by their all immersive experience, and the faculty actually gets along and respects each other. Highly recommended!

This school has a really bad mold problem and the school knows because us students have been reporting for months!! They tell us to figure it out basically and its sad and many students have gotten sick from it.
