Apparently they have a vandalism problem that can’t get fixed. According to the long haired security guard it’s been going on since the start of summer. Today September 10 2023 at 2: 45 pm while trying to find a parking spot to watch a soccer game I saw 3 busted windows to the driver side doors. Security states that the cameras don’t work that’s why they haven’t caught anyone. Hopefully the issue gets fixed now that one of the busted windows to a red truck is apparently one of the football coaches…. Students shouldn’t have to worry about stuff like that while attending here do better…. This was today at a soccer game… Set some money aside from that new project you guys are building and fix the cameras that are not working or hire more security guards…. This can’t be and shouldn’t be acceptable! I asked the security guard if I should call or something to speak to administrators but he said no that they are aware of the problem…and reports will be submitted….. imagine coming out of a very good game to find your car has been broken into that’s not right…it’s been brought to my attention that after this post no one else had their car broken into…….and that’s the way it should’ve been to begin with….but breaking into the coaches truck was the big eye opener. Great job after the fact…but glad to see the problem is fixed…
Shame on you launching fireworks off with out having the news networks send out a heads up. You just flooded the 911 center taking resources away from people who need them. We could hear that crap all the way past the mall. Hope you get a fine for it
They spent more time getting rid of a lot of things that brought students to the school. They have a thing where if you don't stay at least two years, non of you credits can transfer (ironic for a school that likes to make drastic changes mid year). When I went many teachers and coaches quit due to the mishandling of school functions. Staff really can't be trusted. Its cool if your just there to be there and disappear but if you want a legit experience, avoid this school at all cost or risk being scammed or stuck
I got my BFA at McMurry which lead me to go on and get my masters! My time there was memorable and I made amazing connections with people that I am still in contact today. The campus community is small which allowed professed to be more involved in student life, and I loved getting to know them better in my time there.
I can't speak to the academic prestige of the students that attend this college but I can speak to the character of the girls basketball team in McPherson Kansas on March 8, 2018. I showed up in the laundry room at around 7 p.m. to find clothes (team uniforms) that had completed their cycle in the washer and dryer. I waited until 7:30 and no one showed up so I moved the clothes from the dryer to the top of it and the clothes from the washer to the dryer. I put my clothes in the wash and left. When I came back someone had recently started their dryer delaying me 44 more minutes plush the 29 mine took to wash! So I did the walk of shame back to my room. Upon my return I saw someone leaving the laundry room so I tried to catch her to no avail. I proceeded outside and let an assistant coach know that I moved their clothes at first and I wasn't trying to be a dick just needed to get my stuff in the wash and if he needed more time I understood.....he said no problem came in took out the uniforms we chatted....he was happy I was happy all was good until..... I paid for one hour of dry time and came back in 35 min. later and my clothes were wet laying on the dryer wet (needless to say I was pissed) I went to the front desk of the hotel and "vented" my frustration on the poor pregnant woman behind the counter.... (I know a story of another pregnant woman) anyways I went back and took the team uniforms out of the dryer and put my clothes back in the dryer soaked.....then a young lady comes in and tells me my clothes were already out....so apparently someone came in took my clothes out of the dryer setting them on top and put nothing in the washer or dryer.....she casually strolls in finds both machines "open" and puts the team uniforms in the empty dryer with 20+ min of free dry time on it.....now I get to be here at 1100 pm drying my clothes so she (her words not mine) didn't have the uniforms mold on the 8 hour bus ride home..... If you are looking for a Christian college who teaches character on the ladies basketball team this isn't the place.....
I attended McMurry for 3 years. McMurry is where I found my passion. The professors are absolutely amazing, and will do anything to help make your dreams come true! They helped me so much financially as well. One semester I was worried about being able to pay for my classes, and they sat down with me and found multiple scholarships to help cover it in a weeks time. I was so scared, and they consoled me and helped me deal with the problem in no time! Thank you McMurry, for being so amazing!
Went here for my bachelors and it was amazing. Super friendly staff and professors. Also a super helpful financial aid department, they helped me go to college with as little debt as possible
Great school. They had a good plan for graduation and covid. Thanks to all who planned and carried out the graduation. Very professional and showed great caring for the students and their families.
Hail to our dear McMurry! Long wave Maroon and White! Pride of our Western prairies, Spirit of Honor, Truth and Right! We cherish your traditions; Ever true we’ll be. Your Hall of Fame is in our hearts! All Hail to Thee!
Amazing place to be! Great staff who always have your best interest in mind. Bonus: they aren't outrageously expensive like ACU and HSU. Well worth considering
Great university with an amazing, devoted staff, small classes with a diverse and united student body. I would say that McMurry is one of the to universities to attend in the US.
One star for the campus and one star for students. Otherwise it would be zero. I ha e watched this University mess with too many people with false information on financial aid, and not being supportive of students with learning issues and health issues. Way to pretentious to be a "christian" university.
I went to mcmurray's baseball game to watch my great nephew play baseball. They didn't come out winning but I enjoyed watching them.
I had a great tour experience! Everyone answered all or any question I could possibly have, very involved, very friendly. I will definitley be considering McMurry .
This is a great University. Its small & the Professors care about the success of the students.
It has the best Spanish classes in Abilene, or even north west Texas.
The Head security Is rude and said I was not allowed on the campus but allowed others on the campus
My son is going to go to school there! SO! Who cares
Beautiful campus and friendly staff
I wasn't impressed but the people seem friendly.
