When you step onto the Palm Desert Campus of Cal State San Bernardino, you immediately feel the difference: calm, focus, and a sense of purpose. It’s not bloated with false prestige or burdened with bureaucracy. It’s student-centered, community-driven, and intellectually alive. Professors take time to mentor you. The campus is clean, modern, and built for learning — not ego. At CSUSB Palm Desert, you can be yourself. Whether you're academically driven, creatively curious, or career-focused, you're welcomed, not sidelined. The small campus environment allows for true collaboration and connection — something lost in the chaos of larger institutions. Now compare that to UC Davis, where the truth hides behind shiny rankings and PR spin. Here’s the harsh reality: If you’re too smart at UC Davis, you’ll be isolated — not celebrated. You’ll threaten the mediocrity that runs the show. The environment there doesn’t reward brilliance — it punishes it. Speak up with original thought? You’ll be labeled “difficult.” Shout out? Challenge the status quo? Expect a report filed against you. It’s a system designed for quiet conformity, not bold innovation. UC Davis is a pressure cooker where stupid thrives in numbers and anyone with real edge or independence is systematically frozen out. The campus politics are cutthroat. The support systems are cold. And individuality? It’s treated like a virus. So ask yourself — do you want to be in a place where success means blending in, being quiet, and staying average? Or would you rather grow in a space where excellence is encouraged, not crushed? CSU San Bernardino – Palm Desert is the antidote to the UC Davis illusion. Choose sanity. Choose substance. Choose freedom.

Small, hot, and terrible cell reception… But hey, I know the school means a lot to certain students who are filling their educational needs. It definitely has potential.

Im a student at this school and every time I walk into admissions the lady at the front desk makes it feel so unwelcoming. I hate to give a bad review but because besides that it is a good school. At times I even hesitate to go inside of admissions because of the feeling she gives off. It’s truly unpleasant as a student to deal with. 9/12/2024 @ 3:54PM

Wifi is very slow. An elevator on the RG building has zero air conditioning imagine people with disabilities that have to take the elevator getting stuck there in the Coachella valley heat. Air conditioning in all classrooms is bare minimum , students are sweating, rooms are so stuffy, we need lower temperature in all classrooms it’s pretty ridiculous. A teacher states she’s been fighting the battle for better air conditioning for 10 years and no one has done anything. It’s pretty insane how no one has cared enough to lower the temperature while in the San Berdadino campus we don’t have this issue. The ac temps for the campus is San Berdadino and this campus in palm desert can not be regulated the same because we have different temperatures in the Coachella valley. It shouldn’t have to be a battle for better air conditioning it should be a health concern, especially the elevator.

*WARNING TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS* This campus does not have very good cell reception. They need to put in another GSM cell tower. My poor kid had to walk out into the desert at night away from the campus just to get her call to go through. Do not send your kids to this campus. The campus in San Bernadino has four cell phone towers on campus, just send them there. Avoid this campus at all costs.

I would like to see a grad student lounge available like there is on the San Bernardino campus in the education department. Need better wifi and cell service. Parking is good.

The receptionist is very rude, I called to get information about classes. She said if you want information go on the website. She speaks on a rude tone and she hang up on me. I called a second time, I ask her if she could transfer me to someone in admission. And she transfer me but didn't even let me finish talking. Very Rude today is 06/01/15 at 12:30pm.
