As a returning student the return has been questionable because how can this school be overrun with childish dual enrollment that scream everywhere and make someone leave the supposed quiet places. the school and how it is run is fine but their standard have dropped drastically since 2023. like the standards have dropped even with the high school grad once a place i would love to come for my AA now post bach i regret to come due to the horrible environment the incoming students have created to have to run from study spaces because people are talking about intimate encounters with partners in vivid detail im tired. i hope they change this.
Love this location. Just a short walk to the gulf and a couple miles of open beach area to walk along or swim in.. Pleasant people and plenty of interesting shells to see.. And the hotel/4 plex is on a quiet street. With a nice area out front to chat with friends and socialize
Place it’s super clean and well maintained. My daughter goes there and she really enjoy the place.
Am I the only one having issues with this school? I recently moved to the area and have been trying to go back to school, but this has been the most frustrating experience I've ever had. I’ve tried calling, messaging, and visiting in person—and every time has been difficult. The last time I went in person to speak with an advisor, I was treated very rudely. The staff member cut me off and told me I was “done” and could leave. I later found out—only because I called three weeks later—that there was an issue with my transcripts, even though I had handed them in personally. Every time I call, I get a different answer depending on who I talk to. It took two to three months just to receive my acceptance letter. Now that I thought I could finally move forward, I’ve learned there are still more steps before I can even meet with an advisor. I’ve attended two other colleges in different states due to moving, and I’ve never had an experience this disorganized and stressful. I hope they improve their communication and student support because this process has been exhausting.
The school has given me the run around for trying to sign up for classes…met with assistant dean of business department, was told she would send me classes on a Friday and it’s been 5 days with no email and no returned phone call when I try and contact them. Very unprofessional…hope Others don’t have to be treated this way…disappointing to say the least..
I'm thankful we have a local college that continues to make itself better with each year. I'm receiving my AA in 3 credits and I have nothing but outstanding things to say about this school. My advisor has always been incredibly attentive to my needs, even down to offering book recommendations within my future major. I never feel rushed or unwanted. Not all professors or experiences will be great for everyone; however, I'm thankful to say all of mine have. The campus is also quiet and beautiful to hang around.
Thank you Florida Southwestern State College for hosting the Walk To End Alzheimer’s….to all the supporters/vendors. Special walk for my family as we honored my Abuelita’s memory. 💜 We look forward to making this a tradition to raise donations “Lolita’s Family” was our team name. Really a beautiful campus. Has a lovely vibe. Excellent nursing school. Fort Myers campus very conveniently located.
Excellent staff and very friendly. Great local college!
Beautiful campus with lots of coconut trees. Buildings are close by so every department is in walkable distance
