I wasn't too sure about UCF prior to visiting... but it's absolutely gorgeous. They have so much to offer, and a good location, except it's pretty close to my own house, personally, which is the only thing I don't like. They architecture is gorgeous, and the traffic isn't too terrible, even on game days! There's a lot of options for things to do in the error as well as good educational options at the school, too, of course.

Let me be very honest: UCF is not the student-centered, supportive university it claims to be. It’s a party school with a great marketing team, and that’s about it. If you’re a serious student trying to stay on track academically, good luck getting the help you need. I’ve been a student here for nearly four years, and the academic advising at the Nicholson School has been a constant nightmare. I’ve consistently struggled to get answers to the simplest questions, and when something important or time-sensitive comes up—like trying to register for transient summer classes—you’re basically left on your own. I emailed three times over two weeks asking for help registering for Valencia classes, which I need in order to stay on track with my degree. These classes are also tied to my tuition reimbursement from my employer. No one responded. It wasn’t until I sent a third email—clearly expressing my frustration and fear of missing out on registration—that I finally got a response. And what did I get? One sentence telling me to contact the Registrar’s Office. That’s it. I followed that advice. The Registrar’s Office told me they have nothing to do with transient student approvals and that this matter should absolutely be handled by advising. So not only was I ignored for a long time, but I was given completely wrong information. This just confirmed something I’ve suspected for a while: the advisors, including my own—Margo—don’t know what they’re doing, or worse, don’t care enough to find out. Out of desperation, I even emailed the President’s Office. I poured my heart into that email—explaining how this was affecting my education, my finances, and my mental health—and guess what? No response. Not even an automated reply. I transferred to UCF from USF during my first semester because I thought this place would be a better fit—somewhere I could thrive and feel supported. At USF, I got emails from my advisor every semester checking in on me, not just academically but personally. At UCF, I’ve had to beg for help, and when I get it, it’s either wrong, late, or dismissive. I paid for placement tests, kept a high GPA, and got into a limited access major. I’ve done everything I was supposed to do. But it feels like the university doesn’t care about students who aren’t just here to party or take pictures in front of the Student Union. This school prides itself on being one of the biggest in the country—but if you can't support the students you already have, what’s the point of bragging about size or rankings? I’ve never felt more invisible than I have at UCF. If you’re looking for a university that actually supports its students: keep looking. UCF will sell you the dream, but when it comes time to ask for help, you’ll be met with silence.

Went here today to find a out that the disc golf course is now closed and defunct. I thought the campus was beautiful, it seems well organized, but it is massive. I did see some construction as others have mentioned, but it did not hinder traffic at all. This is a great place for a walk if you like to be surrounded by lots of people.

Was there for orientation for my daughter. Seemed well organized and was very informative. A lot of walking on that campus wear comfortable shoes.

Great overall campus is situated in a great location within the city of Orlando. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable about the university. I would highly recommend visiting UCF if you're in the area.

Be careful if you go here for ANYTHING! They have zero free parking spots. The certificate class that I was there for, however, was awesome!

You let fraternities hit kids with cars as part of hazing and don't permanently expel them? They've been suspended eight times in less than 5 years, and had 4 incidents of felony hazing this year alone and just let it ride? How could any parent feel safe sending their kids here?

After completing everything other prerequisite classes for my major, ive been requested to retake a class because i got a 79.7% instead of an 80% final grade. My father has malignant cancer which is the reasoning for the decline in academic grades, they have no exceptions for anyone no matter the cause so the problem is now i cant take a single primary core major course as i was .3% short in one class. Thank you UCF for basically making me waste 3 months of my life and a class worth of income as well as sacrificing a semester worth of scholarships because of a minor inconvenience.

[Mechanical Engineering] I have yet to encounter an engineering professor at UCF who is unwilling to help during office hours. In terms of lecture quality, roughly one in three could be considered truly excellent. Of the remainder, one will be so poor that the course feels like self-study, while the other will fall somewhere in between. It’s worth noting that professor-rating sites often skew negative due to disgruntled students and don’t always reflect the reality—unless the ratings are consistently high, in which case the professor may simply be an easy grader. A better approach is to consider how many bad reviews exist for a given semester compared to the total class size. Opportunities for growth are abundant. The College of Engineering generates revenue through research and manufacturing, which means there are frequent openings for students to participate in research, strengthen their résumés, and expand their skills. Co-ops and internships with major companies—such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Lockheed Martin, and NASA—are widely available for students who demonstrate strong grades and professional skills. That said, there is a visible “luck and pray” culture among some students, where minimal effort is put toward earning a degree. Surrounding yourself with motivated, success-oriented peers is essential. Ultimately, your experience at UCF will be proportional to the effort you invest.

Being an online student is so difficult, I’m going on weeks calling and emailing and they don’t pick up or respond , every course in the graduate program you get accepted into is locked and requires pre-requisites that you cannot take , because they are not in your graduate catalog. And the system doesn’t allow registration. It’s a nightmare, in addition some of the staff forces you to take exams in a physical school, for the online course you take while enrolled in an online program…. When first enrolling you get a false sense that they will be available to assist you since you’re online . Once you’re accepted you will never hear another humans voice again. Specially the Aerospace Engineering department, I have half a masters completed and I can’t proceed , I can’t register , I can’t talk or communicate with a human being , I’ve wasted a year and have nothing to show , can’t do much with half a graduate degree. Thanks UCF for being so supportive To your online students, and for the deception.
