I attended Millersville University for my undergraduate degree. During that time, I had a generally positive academic experience and felt proud to call it my alma mater. I was fortunate to have my education fully funded by FAFSA due to my family’s income situation, which allowed me to focus on my studies and graduate successfully. I returned to Millersville for a master’s program in Special Education while working full-time to support myself. Balancing work and school was challenging, so I made the decision to drop one of my two courses to ensure I could perform well. I had applied for financial aid for the academic year and was told by a financial aid representative—whose name began with a “J”—that everything was fine and the aid was just taking time to process. Weeks passed, and when I checked again, I was informed that my financial aid would not be applied because I dropped below the 50% completion rate. I explained the situation and that I was told otherwise by their staff, but the response was essentially, "We don’t know what to tell you." I was also told to reach out to my academic advisor for help, but she made it clear this wasn’t her responsibility. Despite multiple attempts to find support, I received no meaningful guidance or assistance. Because of this miscommunication and lack of accountability, I had to transfer universities. As a dedicated student and alum, this experience was extremely disappointing and disheartening. I expected more support and clarity from a school I had trusted with my education for several years. This situation made me feel abandoned by an institution I once held in high regard. I hope Millersville University re-evaluates how they communicate financial aid policies and supports graduate students, especially those balancing work and education.

Very nice Honors College! The campus is beautiful! The professors and students are awesome! I feel good about my son attending this school.

(Written in Spring of 2017) I was a victim of assault and battery at this university at an off campus house upon visiting a friend. I'm not able to identify who did it exactly because I was blindsided. I have no idea why I was attacked. After the initial attack, I was harassed and held at the house against my will for a couple of hours by another man that I would be able to identify if given the opportunity. Luckily I didn't have a concussion but I have multiple scars on my arms. It's a shame that none of the other students in attendance called the police or even bothered to stop the situation. the experience was traumatic. I was later told it was executed by a black male who did not attend the university. If I find more information I will be pressing charges. I'm writing this post to inform everyone that the community outside of the student body is apparently extremely unwelcoming to guests and will take advantage or anyone they don't recognize. the feeling of the community is eerie and very depressing. I still am not over what I've experienced that night. Also, based on past criminal events at the university, the students don't seem too well mannered or even in their right mind. Simply google millersville crimes/murders. Invest in a better education and location. Do not go here. you won't feel welcome.

My education at Millersville was not like what I was prepared for in high school. The professors I had cared about their classes, and if a class was ever missed, they would send an email to the student. A lot of professors even knew students name despite how many students they taught. I also had invaluable opportunities to gain experience that prepared me for the workplace in addition to my studies.

The professors are for the most part great. The student body … future nurses and school teachers . Drones. Not very open minded . The whole area of this pet of PA has a stifling air . Repression type silence . Don’t attend unless your major is nursing or education. Sometimes no option for certain courses - you will be stuck with the same professor you dislike because he/she be the only one teaching that course. You would never see the students protesting or anything here . also you will be very lonely if you are from a different culture .will be totally ignore like you are invisible .

I am in my fourth year at the University and I can say I have no complaints what so ever. Every faculty member I have had class with have been nothing but great and my department has some of the best people around. It is nice to have faculty know you by name rather than just as another student, which is why I chose this school over the larger ones for my field. Everyone on campus is a friendly face and they make you feel nothing but welcomed. There has been a ton of construction while I have been here, however, this school is improving and has such big plans for the next couple of years to really put themselves on the map. Give it another year or two and Millersville will be improved and even better than the four years I was here.

I am going into my junior year at Millersville and love it. I was very close minded about the school at first, considering it wasn't my first choice. The faculty is great, always willing to help their students. classrooms are generally between 30-50 kids, unless you have a lecture class. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Lancaster, which has a lot to offer. Park city mall is a 10 minute drive as well, and a movie theater is only 5 minutes away. Known as one of the "best bang for your buck" schools, it is worth every penny I have spent their. Beautiful campus, very welcoming atmosphere, and genuine people. 10/10!

Millersville is a solid value. In state tuition and fees are very reasonable. The University provides a decent education for a reasonable price. This was one of my backup schools for undergrad but my first choice as a grad student. I liked the program's flexibility and the top notch faculty. One issue is that MU definitely lacks name recognition outside of the Lancaster area. Overall a good school.
