This school is so bad at picking up the phone especially if you're an out-of-state student, all the working adults in the financial aid office don't know what they're doing. Email won't be answered and phone call won't be answered, they are not on top of their application or different status, just simply shows they don't care

The nursing department/ program SUCKS! They don't have a good reputation in the area or in the hospital and facilities that they use. Very disorganized! The clinical portion of their program really needs improvement! More people are choosing to apply to the ASN program at the technical school in the Albany area, and it has a much better program and reputation.

I am not pleased with the lack of communication and outcome of housing. My son is excited to attend his first year of college and I have been having the worse experience tying to get him settle into a dorm. His classes are paid for, but because there is no vacancies for housing, he will not be able to attend. I attempted to speak with the director, Antonio Leroy, regarding housing for him. The conversation was not pleasant and welcoming as he stated he was on vacation. If housing was filled before I submitted my son application, why would you not SHUT the housing online application down and STILL take my application fee???? Housing has been filled since April when the application first opened!!! This whole ordeal has been very unorganized and frustrating. I have not been able to speak with anyone regarding housing or anyone has contacted me ASU regarding anything (even when I’ve left numerous messages). The only person whom has been very helpful and consistent is Dr. Rhonda Hunt with my son major program. I drove 273 miles, paid for a hotel and gas and for nothing. The entire trip was a waste of time and very stressful. My son classes are already paid for but he has nowhere to stay. I am a single parent so getting an apartment is not in my budget!

Handicap parking was easily accessible. But they're still long walks in between buildings. We were there for a dance recital so we had to park in one parking lot and walk over to the next building in order to attend the recital in the theater., updated May 2024 went back to the theater or one of the theaters ...the dance recital again. Very clean, kept up well. Restroom were very nice as well..fully stocked..

Albany State University has absolutely amazing. The Fraternity and Sorority life really operates like a caring family/ Community. The Student Union was a Pleasant surprise. From the food options, to the games and the layout was great to see. Would love to go back and see more what the campus has to offer

The financial aid office has been my biggest problem since I’ve enrolled here not to mention that they dropped my classes because they lost my paperwork. I never liked it here and this is going to be my second year attending this school. Every time I turn around I’m always getting the runaround. Something needs to change if you still want students to return or enroll in this school because this is ridiculous.

The Move in process was the best I've ever seen. You pull up and the guys come to car with rolling containers to pick up all the students items and take all the things to the room. The guys unload Everything in the bedroom and are so friendly and helpful. The campus was clean and jovial.
