I was very happy to start school here as they helped me get FAFSA due to my parents being deceased, gone, and me being the first to go to college. I was told I wouldn't have to pay a penny until I finished school and this week I signed my fees and waivers for my last 6 months. Only to realize that they did not tell me the truth. I was told that I would have to start paying them in August, out of pocket, just to finish the last 6 months. I work as a delivery driver and have benefits because work is hard to find these days. Lots of false hiring. The professors never respond to my emails either. I wanted others to know this in case it happens to them.

I'm currently a student here and south university is the best school I have ever came by yet. I never had no other school reach out to me as much as the staff and academic counselors at south university and they making learning easy and I will be graduating in the fall of 2026 with my a degree in MA

South university is a joke they don’t want to return any phone calls that I have made I had recently gotten an email from them saying they called me but I never received a call back from them I tried withdrawing from them before the 27th but went and put in the class when I made it clear in my email that I have sent about withdrawing

I have been a student at South University, Savannah, since October 2013. I will graduate in June 2016, and I have had the most pleasurable experience here. To read all of the negative reviews shocks me. From my first conversation with an admissions rep, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. The professors have always been easily accessible and willing to answer any questions or concerns that I've had. I have had no problem talking to my Financial Aid officer, Adviser, or the Registrar's Office. There have been times that I did have to leave a message or send them an e-mail, but they always returned my phone call within a decent amount of time. And if it was an emergency, I went straight to their office and was able to meet with someone. I have met some wonderful classmates, as well as faculty and staff, who will always been connections in my future career. I would, and already do, recommend this school to others. I'm not sure why others have had such a horrible experience. But I recommend having a little patience and putting forth an effort without expecting a hand out. I love South University and everyone at this campus! And will possibly enrolling in the MBA program this summer.

No matter what school you go to, school is what you make it. Let's be honest, every school is in the business of educating their student and making money. At the end of the day, it is how bad you want to get your education. As far as South University, I have really enjoyed the experience. The Admission Rep, Finance Counselor, and Academic Counselor have all been great. I have been proactive and when you call, they will respond within the same business day. One thing I did like is my Professor will call you by phone. He checked up on me and see if I had additional questions about the course. I submitted an assignment 3 days earlier. He even gave me the opportunity to allow me to resubmit my assignment before he starts to grade it. Everyone has been great and very responsive. So, far I have had no problems. No professor has never reached out to me other staff members have not reached out to me as much South University staff have. College I believe is about being self sufficient and taking responsibility for yourself. No matter what school you go to, college is a true investment and you utilize your investment, it is going to be up to you. As far as South University, its a great school and the staff is great.

I enrolled in South's online Nurse Practitioner program April 2018. I along with my co-workers and now fellow classmates I meet at clinical sites share the same stories of how we are treated so poorly. My personal experiences have been anywhere from their financial aid department holding my stipend for months and each time coming up with a different reason for them not releasing it. The most current was they have policies and procedures that state they can hold my stipend for months. Well that is a new one, the time prior was because they lost it and did not know how to get it back to me until I threatened to call the OIG and Department of Education, miraculously my money was deposited the next day. Keep in mind South was put on probation in 2017 for predatory loans. The professors just make up whatever they want to do, they will release a rubric then tell you they failed you not based off the rubric but it just was not what they wanted. They leave you unable to fix any issues because when you email them and ask what you can do to make sure your next assignment is what they want, they do not respond. My most recent professor failed my discussion post not because of the quality of work but because she said she did not like the fact I turned it in early. She stated " I wont accept any work you do early" . Well this was not discussed in any of the course announcements, she never stated that in the syllabus, and it is not a South University policy that students who turn work in early will receive failing grades. I have made multiple attempts to reach out to South and their academic and student affairs. I have told them of these issues and still nothing is done. It seems South is back to its predatory loan scam of take their money and if you cant fail them based off their quality of work and ability to stay on schedule, then just make stuff up to fail them.

I am a Student Ambassador and in my third year at South University. The faculty and staff are super helpful and encouraging. They ensure the students are kept current with school news/issues and give them a voice in some of the important decisions regarding South University. Reasonable, worthwhile pricing and accredited. I can't wait to see the fruits of my labor next year!! Thanks, South!!
