Hinds Community College - Utica Campus

Overview

Our Utica Campus has a rich heritage and has evolved into a progressive college location with all the perks of a complete campus environment. The Utica campus, formerly Utica Junior College, was founded in 1903 as Utica Normal and Industrial Institute and is the oldest of Hinds CC’s six locations. Utica Junior College merged with Hinds Community College in 1982 but retains its Historically Black College & University (HBCU) designation and traditions.

The Hinds Community College Utica Campus is a hidden gem. It is secluded, confined, and almost it own little town. The Campus itself is older than most, but the age only makes it more unique. It is very well kept and clean. There's a walking trail leading to the Dorms from the Main Campus. And the entire Campus is very Pedestrian friendly. Currently they are working to update and upgrade the Campus. When it is finished, I believe it will be our nicest Campus. Also, the Campus has a Museum due to its historical significance as a HBCU.

From the reads of this college, it sounds like its a GREAT college and door- opener for people from all walks of life to get a quality education and a boost into the professional workforce. With that being said, is the Utica Campus a large campus?
