Wasted time! Failed to let me know a program had a waiting list over 2 years but allowed me to go through the motions to apply. Website doesn’t mention program isn’t available but that didn’t stop them from allowing me to waste valuable time and money to transfer my credits and transcripts. Such a big disappointment. No wonder so many students get discouraged because of the lack of professionalism, and proper information given.

Bmcc will always be one of my favorite college where I took my prerequisite for the nursing program and graduated as a liberal art major in 2024. and now I’m planning to transfer to a private college. Bmcc is a great a place to start because you have a lot opportunities such as financial aid, tap, scholarships and you don’t have worries about financial problems. They have extraordinary professors , who are willing to help and totters. All you need is to focus and study. I’m really thankful Alhamdulily and thanks to Bmcc for everything they have done for me. I highly recommend Bmcc to anyone who’s interested studying in a community college.

I’m only giving this college a 2 because I did enjoy my experience when I initially entered into BMCC but after a little over a year things quickly changed, shortly prior to the pandemic I had a professor by the name of Serena Steven’s, Despite completing all of the required course work I was given a D and this course consisted of my major so I was required to repeat the class, I was told by one of the staff in the counseling department that I can repeat the class and my gpa would go up as if it was a accommodation but that was a lie I just received the gpa I was entitled to, there were also highly unprofessional things said to me throughout online learning during the pandemic and when I reached out to the president of the school and deans I was ignored. Prior to this my counselor in ASAP Ms.Garcia who has since left BMCC and all my other professors and staff were great, it’s unfortunate and I have left the school since all this

8 years ago, back when I was starting to look into colleges because I just got my HSE and was ready to get back into society after nearly a decade of isolation, there were 2 security guards with no patience who gave me wrong directions to orientation and made me feel like a dumbass. The administrator I e-mailed never addressed the issue. I still remember it and refuse to associate with this college.

15 years ago...you showed I.D. and signed in to enter in 2 minutes.. Now you have to use technology that doesnt work...and if you make a mistake...it will take 10 minutes to sign in. Also getting information about the Excelsior scholarship program is difficult. The Bursar office tells people..."there is no one here you can talk to....its all online"

The only thing is proof of MMR vaccines for online students. CUNY President and NY Governor need to get rid of that. Another thing they need to work on is the way they hold returning students who did not perform well in the past and want to come back for an education with a SAP appeal that prevents students from obtaining financial aid until it is resolved. The process needs to be more flexible.

The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. A diverse student base, some of whom had immigrated to America shortly before enrolling, also makes tailoring a viable solution difficult. Improving the retention and graduation rate as well as the increased financial and academic burdens of a remedial program still remain a considerable problem. The Center for Career Development (CCD) provides students with comprehensive career planning services. Its professional career counselors assist students in making informed decisions about an area of study; research occupations that match their personal interests; write a resume; practice interviewing, and help them prepare as candidates for internships and employment. Students also learn to clarify their career goals, develop effective communication and interpersonal skills, conduct job searches, and develop a digital portfolio for employers to view as evidence of their skills, accomplishments and professional qualifications. In addition, CCD partners with New York Needs You, the New York office of America Needs You, to host career-oriented events and seminars to bring industry insights to its students.

Great college with students who are striving to better themselves. Without places like BMCC, thousands of NYers would have no access to higher ed. Most 4 year colleges do not have the resources to think about students who do not fit a specific SAT, GPA, or language level.
