The IT department is the worst I have ever seen in my life. They constantly reboot email servers via either changing them (gmail to outlook) or otherwise lock you out of your email account by changing security settings (2FA then needed to download a new app, etc.). People might say that's a thing with colleges in general, but I strongly disagree. It's something unique to TU. The town itself is your average small college town, very little in terms of jobs or internships, so you'll def. need a car or a few plane tickets if you want to get hired somewhere (unless you end up working remotely). About the professors: some are def. better than others. Some have no business teaching, others are pretty good. That's standard fare across universities and colleges, but here I've probably seen more who are just "by the book" types rather than able to adapt to changing situations. Some seemed to have a hard time understanding that not every student fits neatly into a little box. Do I regret attending? Sort of.
Great small town college & concert venue
I was very comfortable because its a small school so you really get to know the other students and the professors who get to know your name too. The online classes are different but they did the best they could and the graduate admissions program coordinator helped connect students even though we were all across the states.
I was planning on attending this college to work on my Masters in Film Studies, they claim that none of the credits was transferable. It does not make sense. All courses from my undergraduate school are transferable. It is such a waste and I would advise anyone who is getting a degree in film to go somewhere else. I am glad I am not going to this loser school. I am getting my degree somewhere else better.
I am a former student of Tiffin university and I can definitely say that it is not your money’s worth. I did not have an enjoyable experience at college like most freshman should. I never made any friends. It was almost impossible too. Because the main thing at this university is sports just about every kid I saw was on some kind of sports team. If you were not on a sports team is was incredibly hard to meet new people or to be friends with anyone. The food was not the greatest either is was hard to digest anything they had to offer there. The options of food were also slim as well. The worst part was when I suffered a horrible tragic event of my Fiancé passing away while I was still attending school and I was clearly distraught and grieving, being an out of state student I felt like I was alone and I had no family or friends to comfort me while I was there. So instead of the university trying to get me into counseling I was sent to a MENTAL hospital and completely cut off from the outside world and then call my family 12 hours away to say I was in a hospital and that they needed to come get me. I was in there for a mandatory three days, I could not grieve I did no feel safe and what made is worse was my roommate (after I was released) was treating me horribly to the point where I did not feel safe in my room anymore and had to stay with a friend in another dorm to avoid it. I was so traumatized that a university would do that to a student and now I suffer ptsd not only from my past but from the school and how they could do that to someone. And now here I am receiving multiple phone calls a year AFTER I transferred asking if I want to return. I clearly Transferred and it is on my recorded so at this point Tiffin University your desperate. Do NOT go to this school
Some professors help students but the dean not help students. My story I have reports about my situation from 3 hospital in Ohio and one from my country . All my professors at fall semester 2019 accept my excused and my report but they told me we need the dean send email for us and the dean don't accept my excuse and he go to the office registration and dropped all my classes. I forget told you I have reported from disability at tiffin university but he didn't accept it. It is unbelievable, all my papers are acceptable and official, but not accepted by the Dean.
Best student support i ever experienced; very active typically they replies in short time and cooperate with you timely. they even call for confirmation thats the best part. overall i had very good time with Tiffin.
Tiffin University changed my life. I became successful because of the education I received here. Everyone will always help you if you ask. I felt comfortable through out my time here and always enjoyed my classes.
I heard about Tiffin University through my high school running coach. The next year I attended Tiffin University and joined the cross country team. I love being a part of a team because it really gets you involved and you meet a lot of great people!
I recently graduated from Tiffin University with a degree in Psychology and Human Resources. I loved all of my professors and developed long-lasting relationships with them. I know that I can contact any of them for recommendation letters or just general advice. I thank them for bettering my future.
