Penn State Harrisburg offers a quality education on a beautiful self-contained campus. Students can spend anywhere from one year to four years here to complete their bachelor's degree. Several programs are 2 and 2 meaning that you can spend two years at the Harrisburg branch campus and then two years at the main campus in State College. They also offer certification programs like teacher certifications and Master's programs. They offer on campus housing with meal plans as well as off campus housing that is located within walking distance of the campus. The housing is very nice and is suite style often with four people sharing a suite each with their own rooms and sharing two bathrooms between them. There's a living room area and kitchen area. Each individual room has a microwave and refrigerator combo as well as the suite has a washer and dryer in it. Very comfortable seating and each room has a bed, desk, 2 drawer dresser, and closet. Everything is accessible via walking paths and amenities such as the workout room are very nice. The dining hall offers a variety of foods throughout the month and the library is very nice. Sports teams and clubs are available and entertainment programs also are provided. Highly recommend.
Campus Tour whew lol. We have been on quite a few. A sigh of relief too not have to do anymore. Overall its a small campus. Which I believe for most students especially incoming Freshmen would like to not feel like a number and be swallowed up. To feel like you can get the assistance you really need. We were able to see inside classrooms and also a mock student room. Our student tour guide I believe her name was Yasmeen. Did an excellent job. She was rushed with us because we had another engagement. Though she did give detailed information at every location. With that she was well informed and gave us a well rounded look at tye campus. Also she gave us some insight into some things we were unaware of. Overall I think we are sold 😆.
Great Commonwealth Campus!! Excellent academics, sports, and a good amount of clubs. Advising could be a bit more organized.
Great school, great price, everyone here really makes an effort to make you feel welcome and help you with your academics.Almost all class sizes are small (< 30), except for a few lectures like CHEM 110 and PHYS 211 where there may be 100+ students. For engineers, EDSGN will be an enjoyable class where you learn the basics of how engineers design structures and products. Highly recommended the 2+2 program for students trying to save money and want to start out at a smaller campus.
I had the pleasure of dealing with EMILY LENTZ and just wanted to say she is one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. She has such a sense of entitlement, It was an absolutely crazy experience and I recommend staying away or working with someone else. I've had amazing interactions with other PSU employees, but Ms. EMILY LENTZ ruined my whole experience.
Amazing nature, nice people, a very good school for studying and meeting new friends
I graduated many years ago; BS Professional Accountancy. Can honestly say that all my professors were excellent and I had a really great learning experience here. I’m extremely proud to be a Penn State alumni.
They're so worried about getting new students money that they put the rest of us on the back burner and are unavailable to help current students navigate major change approvals, financial aid/loans qualifications, granting permission to take online courses. Typical money grabbing scheme by making you sign off on forms saying you're fully responsible for late fees when they don't do their end of filling out the paperwork you need to get into class or apply for loans. This university contributes to gate keeping. If you're not rich you're getting the short end of the stick. I've jumped through all of the hoops in a timely manner. And still facing the run around i.e. "that's not my department, I can't connect you to them. Look it up online." Good luck to everyone just trying to turn their life around to make ends meet. This is oppression at its finest. Education should be free not gate kept.
Penn State money scheme. That’s all I have to say…. Don’t send your kids here. They boast students first but it’s just a business better off going to a private college for a “better backed” education.
I applied for and received a GRANT @ this school. They asked me to pay it back or my account will be locked and I will not be able to attend classes. GRANTS are suppose to be award monies that you DONT PAY BACK. Definition of a GRANT! I don't have that kind of money if I did I wouldn't be applying for assistance GEEZ :/ So I got "kicked out" of school because they DONT know how to handle THEIR FINANCES!!! They don't care about you what so ever!!! DONT GO HERE They will give you the run around collect your money and leave you. This institution contributes to money scamming and gate keeping. EDUCATION really should be free those of us interested in bettering ourselves seems like your better off becoming a EUROPEAN resisident & getting your education there! PENN STATE IS CORRUPT like everyone else behind closed doors. Good luck to you!
Don't practice your motorcycle skills in there parking lot even if empty lot or late at night early morning etc . signs for parking motorcycles so not sure what the problem is police say it's a no no. Fair warming
The experience. The people. These can go both ways. I attended this campus for 2 years and it was both a positive and negative experience. The biggest thing that threw me off was that Penn State HARRISBURG was in MIDDLETOWN. Make it make …
Past Student: I guess this campus was okay compared to some other branches I've seen. Not PSUH's fault, but it would be nicer if Middletown was more of a "college" town like state college, with more unique bars, clubs, restaurants, & shops. It feels like the Commonwealth campus is misplaced and just put in the middle of nowhere.
Well-kept campus. A bit short of parking, generally not for people that do not attend the campus. The academics are good, there are decent food options (two coffee places, though they're not really open). This campus has a staffing problem in the food courts.
This is a welcoming campus. The atmosphere, the energy, and the feeling of PSU pride makes this a winner. We toured the campus. We spoke with students, admissions counselors, athletic …
From the outside of the buildings, it would seem like a small and fairly out of date college, but the facilities themselves (once you venture inside) are very comfortable spaces with amenities you'd want to see like electrical outlets in …
Worst college ever. I wouldn’t wish this school upon my worst enemy. Go to UP instead, Harrisburg is a joke
wow,I really like this place!!We are Penn State!!
Penn State Harrisburg is the largest Penn State non-University Park campus and is 100% back to its pre-COVID strength. There is a newly built train stop & boarding platform just across from the main campus entrance and HIA, the Harrisburg …
I am strongly arguing that do not even recommend this school to your enemies. Everything is messed up. College, town, people, etc...literally everything you can think of..Google should've allowed me to rate a negative point. I can guarantee that you'd be better off by studying yourself instead of coming to this living hell.
