DO NOT FALL FOR THE BUILD DAKOTA SCHOLARSHIP! The build Dakota scholarship has been the worst experience I’ve ever had at any school. They mention it’s a “free” scholarship, but I didn’t like the extra classes they forced you to take for the scholarship, especially since I have learning disabilities and cannot handle multiple classes to focus on at once. not to mention some hidden fees as well that were never mentioned! I ended up dropping out of STC not even 4 months In due to the lack of help I wasn’t getting! Housing made me pay $5000 on the spot because I left early, and I owed the school $30k after I dropped out. FOR WHAT? Keep in mind I only spent 3 months at the school. They stole from me! This place will make you feel pressured and unwelcome. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COLLEGE TO ANYONE.

Giving this place 1 star is generous. This is my second year at the school as a student and I have never hated my life more. Every time I’ve ever interacted with someone who works here has been an awful experience. Every single teacher has no clue what they’re doing, especially anyone who works in the books store. I had ordered books/supplies 2 months before school and they were still late, and then emailed me they were ready over Labor Day (which they’re closed). I then go in to pick up my stuff and they “can’t find it”. Well I keep pushing and SHOCKER they had it… the idiot of a worker didn’t bother looking in more than one place after calling me a liar. AND THEN, I never got my HAWKES code that I had order so I had to buy it online from HAWKES. Well I get in because they eventually got the code for me but I no longer needed it. I asked for a refund, but SHOCKER once again they gave me the code a day AFTER the due date for returns was. So I kept pushing and the guy called me a liar for not having my code sooner. You really think I would go through all of this for a code i had? Like that’s so stupid. So I showed him the receipts and after his audacity he learned he was in the wrong. Now the advisors. They are so useless. If you need help, don’t bother asking. My success advisor and program advisor were both so useless when I was trying to drop a class. I even emailed the teacher of the class and she told me to reach out to my advisor, WHICH I ALREADY DID. like if you can’t do your job, don’t even bother kids coming to you for help.

I love this school. My experience has been top notch. Megan & Todd are awesome & very helpful & open to feedback. The teachers I had have all been amazing. I will always suggest people get a tech degree & STI is the place I'll be suggesting to attend This is honestly my favorite place to be! If you communicate, they will listen! Theres hope :)

sent a day apart. kind of crazy. all because i failed a class and they say i can’t come back even though i have a learning disability the teacher was new and i had a death in the family two weeks before classes started which had me struggling yet they don’t get you second chances. actually kind of sad they treat you like dirt and say oh let me help you find other programs that will best fit you even though your dream program the one that you really wanna graduate from won’t let you come back so there’s no point of going back to school and you might as well just be a bum the rest of your life.

I went there a number of years ago trying to better my life even with a learning disability that I have documented proof of. They said they would set me with assistance which they lied about so I struggled just like in highschool, so I was put in more classes that where accelerated when my disability advisor and myself said that would not be a good idea but they did what they wanted and because of it I failed out . Now when I want to try again I'm barred because of my grades last time . It's sad how they lie, take your money and then say screw you.

Great instructors, and almost every day we were learning hands on.

They give you money that they make you think is from financial aid but in reality it's from them and they don't tell you. They them expect you to pay it back or threaten to garnish your wages and put no effort into working with you. Never been so disappointed with a school in my life and have never had a school do this too me before.

I love going there, it's close and I got s close friend, it makes the experience more memorable:)

CDL training course is a rip off. After you give them your money and show up for class they tell you and ask you to sign another contract, you have one chance at the end of course to pass the driving test. If you fail you don’t get another chance and have wasted about $4000.

All the instructors use material you can find online for free. Nobody knows what's going on here and it's a mess. I would go to freakin Phoenix U online before I went here again. Trash school, per the usual with any college big or small and it's in garbage SD.
