It is a great university. I am an alumni and 2 of my other children are also alumni. My youngest will be graduating soon and I have another enrolled as well. Go Texans Go! Texan for Life!

I received my Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M. I know what a good school looks and feels like. Tarleton is not that. I enrolled in Tarleton to pursue an interest in psychology. Tarleton has an on-line psych program. ...supposedly. The word you will see over and over in the reviews is UNORGANIZED. I can corroborate that description. Is it exactly the primary word I would use. Administration, professor, multiple outdated, confusing websites. ALL UNORGANIZED. It was so bad that after 2 weeks I decided to drop the class. It was pitiful. To add insult to injury; there is a window for a 70% refund, and then a window for a 50% refund. You must go through an advisor to drop a class. On the last day of the 70% withdrawal window, the advisor's office was closed. Every one of them were out of office. It was impossible to drop a class that day. I dropped the class the next Monday when they were back in the office. The registrar denied my 70% refund and arbitrarily made it a 50% refund. I went through the registrar's appeals process, explaining what happened. It was to no avail. They make their own changing rules apparently, with no accountability to anyone. Don't go here. There is SO much better out there. Don't settle.

While this is a great small school in a small town they still continue to sell classes and then only offer Zoom and it's the fall of 2025 well past Covid! This should be unlawful for any university esp in Texas! Many students do not learn well with Zoom which has been proven. It should be mandatory that all classes above freshman level have to have a teacher in class. Do it with purpose and do it right - are students there to learn or just get thru to A&M?

I recently went on an AVID trip to this campus. One, not only does the campus seem less lively than others, but it's not as decorative as I thought it would be. The history lessons were great, but if you like driving around your university, TARLETON IS A NO DRIVING CAMPUS! But, overall, good guide and tour.

I strongly dislike this school. I wish I could give it a zero for my experience so far. Every semester I consider dropping out and transferring to a another uni because of how terrible it is(I probably should at this point). The professors are okay but good lord I learned about how little they make and it is extremely unfair. The tarleton website is god awful. I feel like the rinky dinky websites I surfed on in elementary school in the late 2000s ran better than this. The admins seem to hate everyone. I always get weird glances and bad attitude whenever I have problems which is always. I had my recent advising meeting cancelled because the advisor assumed I didnt want to meet for some reason. Just gave me recs for classes I should take even though I had so many questions other than what classes I need to take. I feel like I pay so much and nothing ever gets done. The year I moved here, people complained about lack of parking and housing so what does Tarleton do? Break ground on some event center... cuz they care more about money than actually retaining students. I keep hearing about new dorms being built but where? Theres no space for expanision unless they plan on buying up properties like my apartment where lots of students live to get it done Don't even get me started on this podunk town either. I've never met such awfully mannered, self centered people before in my life. If you aren't from here or don't like putting up with sleepless nights full of partying teens and race cars and 1 ton trucks going up and down your street, find another uni. Update 08/2025: I dropped out of Tarleton, moved out of state, and am now attending another university.

Small town school, went here a few years ago. The overall atmosphere is nice, but the other comments can put perspective on how the school itself performs.

We went to the TSU football game and it was a blast! The campus is clean and conveniently located to restaurants and hotels.

This university is terrible. The professors do not care, and the staff couldn’t care less about you especially when their services are needed. I’ve been charged for multiple hidden fees not discussed up front. Parking is a nightmare. Some days you’ll get a spot, but on others it’s up to luck. Housing is horrible, for there is not enough housing for everyone so the school will force you to fend for yourself. This university is not worth your money, go look somewhere else.

Please don't put your children in this college. The college requires freshman to stay here there first year. My son stayed in there dorms and ended up with mold toxicity. There buildings are old . The minute he left the campus his rashes that were all very his body went away. Please be cautious of old buildings like this.
