I attended Westminster College in 1971. I recently was in Salt Lake City and told my husband I would like to visit the school. We went there on a Monday around 5:30 pm and walked around the campus. It was prettier than when I attended. The trees were so much larger, there were flower pots throughout the grounds and it was clean and beautiful. It brought back so many beautiful memories that I had there.
My youngest graduates from here in TWO weeks! This college- tho liberal- is incredible with its awareness of current trends and events. They have a keen awareness of humanity and constantly seek out community involvement and mentorship for their students. I have spoken here at their business school I have attended academic events and luncheons on behalf of the community. I’ve toured here with my daughter. I’ve enjoyed art exhibits and student and teacher interactions that have changed me for the better. Excellent institution!
Beautiful college, small population of students, excellent buildings with useful tools. Absolutely live the gym, its three floors 💞💞 some great professors, but also some poor ones. Make sure to find reviews on your professors or ask to change within the first week. Great theater and events. This college really was a dream come true, I met some of the realist people in my life. The lacrosse team is excellent, great field to play on. Great little shops near by, bed bath and beyond, red lobster, olive garden. Really great experience overall.
My time at Westminster was amazing!!! I attended from 2012-2016. I was impressed by this school the moment I stepped on campus to tour. I chose Westminster for the small class sizes, the small campus and intimate feel, and it is just that. The classes are small (max 25 students) which is just what I wanted and needed as a student. The professors are hands on, available to assist you to do your best, and the classes are unique and interesting. Not to mention how beautiful the campus is. My experience was nothing short of life changing. I have had experiences I never would have been able to have anywhere else. I took classes on service learning, the history of coffee, the science of autism, chemistry of cooking, just to name a few. I embarked on a May term trip where we went to the Hopi and Navajo reservations in New Mexico and Arizona to enrich ourselves in the history, culture and education and medical practices. This was a life changing experience which led me to moving to the Navajo reservation and completing my student teaching there. I had professors during my studies that have become lifelong mentors and people that have become forever friends.
Great campus and super friendly people. Happy to have a student here. Safe and good education.
My son attended Westminster in 2018. He was in the Advanced Psychology and Philosophy program. He experienced a breakup while attending and immediately felt suicidal. He knew he needed help so he went to the councilors office on campus. Mark the counselor asked him to attend weekly counseling sessions. A month later when my son was feeling worse and told Mark that he had a plan. Mark told my son that Westminster couldn't help him and that he needed to find psychologist. Westminster offers professors that are psychologists to teach but not one available for a suicidal student? My son was unable to get into a psychologist after months of waiting and was rescheduled 2 times knowing he had a plan. He died while still attending Westminster 3 months later.
I have never been treated by professors so well in my entire life. They are thoughtful and take the time to really get to know you. I didn't know hardly anything about my subject when I first arrived, and I left feeling like an expert. There was not one second during that time that I felt like the professors were trying to prove how much smarter they are than me. They were genuinely interested in my success and development as a student and human being in general. It's worth every penny.
I've went to other schools for undergrad and once I started at Westminster for my Master's I wished I'd been there for all of my schooling. The teachers are amazing & caring, the class sizes are perfect, and the campus is extremely welcoming.
I attribute much of how I think to this college. I got my BA in English lit in 2011 and MEd in 2013. You're exposed to so many cultures and points of view here that it helps you to think independently. The class sizes are small, and the campus is stunning. Forever grateful.
A smaller institution of higher learning in Utah, Westminster has a wide range of degrees available. The classroom sizes are generally smaller and the professors/staff really care about what you're learning. The campus and students are awesome.
