Virginia State University

Virginia State University has a beautiful campus near historic downtown Petersburg Virginia. It is conveniently located close to multiple shops, restaurants and services in the area. It's proximity to the interstate highway system makes traveling to and from the campus at the start of end of the year, as well as during holiday breaks, very easy to travel there, visit family, or just get away to the beach for a little rest and relaxation.

The Agri Fest 2025 was educational and exciting to learn and explore how technology has greatly impacted farmers seeing first hand equipment. The Virginia Extension VSU and VT brought vendors who greatly gave a plethora of information and hands on experience Watching students and local farmers engaged in conversation was amazing. I am looking forward to next year. Hopefully more vendors and Extension came to share their expertise to the community and students.

I transported some high school students who experiencing college life for a week. The campus is beautiful. Have security check as you enter the grounds.

I am currently a rising Senior at Virginia State University and I must say I have enjoyed my years there. I am a Management Information Systems major and the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business is great! I believe that I made a very good decision when I decided to attended this school. I have had a good experience with the classes as well as the atmosphere of the campus. Virginia State is full of great opportunities. I must say this is a very friendly campus full of people from many different areas. VSU is very helpful when it comes to preparing people for the high school to college transition.

I love VSU my daughter is a sophomore and I couldn't be more proud of her and her choir my only wish would be an updated dorm but that's not a big thing.

My experience at Virginia State University has been more than I have ever expected. I am a freshman here at Virginia State. I don't have any complaints about this school. I really like the fact that if you don't want to stay in a freshman dorm you have a choice to move out into a different dorm. my fall semester here was great and my greats were wonderful as well. This school was not my first as I was receiving my acceptance letters. But somehow I found my way to this school. I have had a lovely first semester at VSU I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The Virginia State University, like no other. As a rising junior, honors student, biology major with a minor in math, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated as well as a social organization, my experience has been great! I have bonded with so many people and shared great experiences with my professors. Because I am an out-of-state student and 5 to 6 hours away from the university, it was a little hard adjusting however because of the warm atmosphere and friendly students, it did not take long to adjust. Virginia State University is a very family oriented university. The professors are wonderful and have a genuine care for their students. The Biology Department and the Mathematics Departments are two great departments at the school and are involved with their students to make sure they are afforded many opportunities. These departments may be tough at times but the professors are there to help. My advise to prospective students is to not overlook Virginia State University. It is a wonderful university, from academics to social life. There are so many organizations (academic or social) to be involved in that will interest all students. I love my school and I am glad I chose this university.

Virginia State University has given me the home away from home experience. The beautiful campus and family atmosphere make it easy to adjust to this university life. With class room sizes not being too large it makes it easy to build relationships with your professors and get the help you need in order to be a successful student.

As an upcoming Junior Social Work Major the best way to describe my experience at this University as interesting to say the least. Virginia State is exactly what you make it . This university provides many opportunities inside and out side of the class room. I can honestly say that there have many instances for me to grow as a person with the opportunities that I was afforded.The Campus is filled with lots of activities. I would recommend this University to any one that wants to attend a school they can actually get something from inside and out side of the class room VSU I LOVE IT I LOVE IT

Virginia State University is a wonderful university! As a current Junior i have experienced everything this school has to offer. From its excellent academics and outstanding athletics VSU is one of the best HBCU's in this country. The campus is one big family here from the organizations, the Greek fraternities, and, sororities also, the administration we are all one. I love it, I love it, I love it !!
