I graduated from Renton Technical College in 2013 with an AAS degree in Executive Assistance. At the time, I was told this program could lead to opportunities at places like Microsoft, but in reality, the degree hasn’t held much weight in the job market. Employers don’t recognize it the way it was presented, and it’s been incredibly disappointing. To make matters worse, the program was discontinued shortly after I graduated. I reached out to RTC for support and guidance, hoping they could help me navigate next steps, but I never received a response. This experience has been frustrating. Wasted 2 years for nothing. I’m sharing this in hopes that future students ask deeper questions before enrolling and that RTC takes more responsibility for the promises they make. Also planning to file a complaint for misrepresentation. It was an expensive program.
I went to this college in 2022-2024. I really had a great experience. Since I wasn't able to apply for financial aid, they provided me with a Federal Pell Grant for my tuition, and I ended up paying a little amount from my packet. Thanks RTC professors!
I start tomorrow when in early to meet teachers and get the exact class I was going to I got to meet instructor very impressed so professional. Was extremely nervous but made me feel welcome.
What a dismaying experience it is to have unreliable communication with RTC staff who are supposed to help student affairs as a part of their job responsibilities. I've sent emails and voicemails to registrar, as well as to financial aid office, but they seem not to care to respond.
Staff is rude and u professional, especially over the phone staff. Entitled and absolutely useless. I'm not sure why this facility is still here, trying to get in touch with anyone is basically sending out your mail with a bird
Came to give a certification exam, and it was so easy to locate and park. The center was good and the overall campus was neat and well maintained.
The FAFSA team is wonderful and knowledgeable in their help. Great school all around.
Some of the teachers are knowledgeable, and the facilities aren't bad, but the admin staff is a total joke. They are a bunch of useless, untrained, whiny children that can't even do basic tasks.
Back in 2008 they actually tried to cut my financial Aid one quater before my graduation even though I had a 4.0 gpa I had to fight tooth and nail for them to pay the last quater having to sit in front of the Committee twice because I got rejcted the first time but I apply for a appeal and then I was approve so just be carefull for stuns like this to happen if you need Aid
"Renton Technical College is an exceptional institution that truly fosters student success. The instructors here are incredibly supportive and always encourage students to ask questions, creating an engaging learning environment. Their dedication to student growth is evident in their willingness to provide guidance and assistance whenever needed. I've found their approach to teaching to be both effective and empowering. I highly recommend Renton Technical College to anyone seeking quality education and supportive faculty."
