Everett Community College is a great place to further your education. The campus is well-maintained and offers a variety of resources to support students. I'm not a student there but I visited the school for a workshop and I'm impressed.
06/03/23: I had a chance visiting this beautiful campus on weekend. They have a clean campus with many beautiful sceneries. I have not had the chance studying here but I believe that this CC is a great learning environment for everyone
Everett Community College does not value its students! Please save your money and choose EdCC; they have on-site childcare and value students who are also parents. Evcc lacks effective commincation and treats their staff horrible.
The running start process through this college is a nightmare. No one helps you, communication is extremely lacking. You need to jump through several secret hoops to get going and then you find out there’s another level of secret hoops.
I got my Associate degree at EvCC a few years back, and recently went back to school to do the Medical Interpreter program. I had a great experience overall with the professors and the quality of education. The school also provides lots of resources to help struggling or disadvantaged students! The website has gotten better since I first attended, but is still a little rough. Customer service was able to help resolve issues with little hassle though.
I had a great experience with the classes that I took at Everett CC. Unfortunately, I've had an awful experience with their enrollment office. I am in the process of transferring to a new school so I can complete my bachelor's degree. EVCC's 7-10 day time frame to process transcripts is absolutely insane. For reference, the university that I went to has sent every transcript that I have ordered from them within a few hours of placing the order. As far as I understand, it's as simple as hitting the submit button through National Student Clearinghouse and that's it. From my experience and what I've seen in quick Google searches, most schools process them quickly (less than 24 business hours) and they also offer a service for students to purchase expedited transcripts in the event of an urgent need, such as what I am experiencing. The school that I am transferring to has a deadline that's rapidly approaching, and will be passing before EVCC's time frame to process them ends. I reached out to the enrollment office at EVCC to see if the transcript could be processed any quicker and offered to pay a fee or do whatever I needed to expedite it. Patty in the enrollment office emailed me back and stated that they're busy right now and that they'll get to my transcript when they can and sent me an unofficial transcript (which students can access from the student portal - I already had it and had already sent it to my new school, however they cannot use it). I emailed back and explained the importance of getting it sent as soon as possible because the only thing that the school I'm transferring to is waiting for is my EVCC transcript and if it's not received in time I will need to delay my enrollment. I also explained why an unofficial transcript was not viable for enrollment. Her response to me was that I could come into their office and pay a fee to expedite my transcript, they'll print it for me, and then I can overnight it to the school myself. However, it is not an official transcript if it is not sent directly from the issuing school, which I explained to Patty. The response I received was essentially that they do not mail transcripts purchased in person and that they'll process my transcript as soon as they can, but it won't be on time. Because of EVCC's lack of good process and her lack of empathy, I will more than likely have to delay enrolling in my bachelor's program. What bothers me most, is that in the time it took her to look up and download my unofficial transcript and send me multiple emails stating that she cannot help me, she probably could have sent the transcript several times over. It feels as though she just wanted to argue with me rather than help. I was very polite and tried to be understanding, but I really don't think they care.
Alumni, and Phi Theta Kappa member here. This was the worst atmosphere and staff I have ever experienced in a community college. Art Teacher(s) that insult students behind their back, thinking they can't hear. Making examples of honest mistakes before a class, and openly humiliating students. They seemed to believe this was an acceptable teaching style. It drove me to threats of suicide. Further, I had an inexperienced English teacher that tried to push a book projecting Chinese AI development for their ENG101 textbook, and lied to students about its political statements. There was no comradery or friendship for the outsider or minority to be had here; only petty socialites, spoiled rich kids, and unqualified staff. Particularly in the face of autistic and neurodivergent student(s). Nobody here knows what to do with them, so they end up in classes with kids barely out of high school that treat them no differently than they did 5 years before. It also took them nearly *two years* to process my graduation, after apparently losing multiple applications. By the time I was able to attend this years' ceremony, I wanted nothing to do with this school. What a waste of time and money.
The campus is nice and feel comfortable. However, finding parking is extremely difficult.
Horrible IT systems used for studying and test taking, very difficult to use user interfaces instead of person to person communications
Difficulties with one of the financial assistance representative. She wasn’t very helpful and was rude. My daughter completed all the necessary financial aid paperwork weeks ago including myself turning in the IRS and financial documents needed for her to apply for financial aid. Jordan, the financial assistance staff wasn’t very willing to answer questions and ended up hanging up on my daughter never to answer the phone again. She received an email indicating she didn’t meet the deadline to begin school this quarter. She had turned in all documents multiple times. We escalated the situation to leader ship and the financial aid issues were quickly resolved and my daughters account was placed on hold so that she is able to get into school this quarter. After more consideration, we have chosen to pursue education at Seattle Central CC, this school is not the right fit for us. We all have to remember that when we are taking roles and employment and helping the community and serving others, we truly have to feel that way inside. We really have to have empathy and compassion and love for others and working a role where people are going to need your help and ask questions. It takes patience. And if you don’t have that, maybe you should consider a different career. Seattle Central community college has taken my daughter on and she really enjoyed her teachers and her class and I think that was the best choice.
So far, i had an amazing experience here in EvCC. Chilcare and library are incredibly been helpful for me. If i get to chance to attend school again, i would choose EVCC again.
