⸻ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Michelle and Mike Brown — The Dynamic Duo of Western Iowa Tech If Western Iowa Tech had superheroes, Michelle and Mike Brown would definitely be it — capes optional, but totally deserved. Whether you’re drowning in deadlines or just need a little extra guidance, these two are the ones who swoop in with exactly the help you need. Michelle’s attention to detail and calm confidence make even the most confusing processes feel like a breeze. Meanwhile, Mike’s energy and straight-shooter advice cut through the noise and get you back on track faster than you can say “final exam.” Together, they’re like the peanut butter and jelly of student support — perfectly balanced, surprisingly powerful, and something you didn’t know you needed until you had it. Honestly, navigating school can be tough, but with Michelle and Mike in your corner, it’s way less scary and a lot more manageable. If you ever find yourself wondering who to turn to at Western Iowa Tech, start here. These two have your back — and then some.
Dont let the graduation rate sway you. This place has phenomenal teachers and tons of help if you look for it and/or ask for it. The tutors have been crucial in my academic success. I wish some more credits would transfer but other than that this place is awesome. Beautiful campus that's always well maintained. Nice disc golf course out back and people are friendly.
They offer classes to people of all ages! I started taking classes when I was 16. They work with local high schools to allow high schoolers to get free college. What a cool idea! People and staff are friendly, the other day I had car troubles and one of the professors offered to help. Nice campus! I love the disc golf course!
I have a good college experience here. I came here not knowing very much about the language and everyone here helped me. I got my associates from here and then transfer to another college. The transfer was so smooth and hassle free. My teachers were amazing and helpful. The trio program was also very helpful for me. I never have problems with financial aid because I was always able to communicate with the department.
when I last attended I used the disability services because I qualify for their help under the ADA(Americans with disability act). The person in charge of assisting me actively worked against my needs and in the long run is the direct cause of me dropping the class and eventually leaving college. all from lack of assistance I was entitled to under the ADA. It is my belief that the disability services was in violation of the ADA. My experience at WIT outside of the disability services was very positive. therefore it's my belief if you have a disability to maybe consider a more helpful institution then WIT. If you do not have a disability you would probably be very happy here.
I signed up for college over a month ago and emailed the teachers asking about there web design program. I just received an admission email saying I'm excepted. But for same price I signed up for coders camp. It's 18 weeks vs 2 years. The teachers and faculty are not dedicated to there students. Coder camps counselor has contacted me every day to see how I'm doing. They encourage you and always has someone available 24/7 to help you through the program. Plus they dedicate time just to get you employed. I do not recommend you to go to witcc for web design. They don't even offer job help.
This is a good college if you don't have any problems with math courses. When I registered at the college shortly after graduating high school in 2012, I was placed in basic math. Math was at the moment my only barrier to getting an associate's degree. I was passing my other courses, but that doesn't matter since I am an autistic who has an issue with math and whose strength is writing. I want to go back and get a degree in writing to improve my skills and get a career, but that can't possibly happen.
Not at all what I expected from a 2 year school. I am in the Information Systems program here (Computer programming/Computer science). Very relaxed environment, extremely flexible homework setup, and overall one of the best environments for learning I have ever been in. A little disappointed in the General Education part of the school but I can deal with that. Also wish the school was a little more focused on our department but I still can't complain. Overall a very good experience!
I graduated in 1977 with a degree in Computer Programming. Ed Bowman ran the department then. The school had an IBM 360/40, at the time, a state-of-the-art machine. I can't tell you what has happened in the last 45+ years, but I can tell you this school completely changed my life. I've had an outstanding career and life because of this school and staff. So all I can say is Thank You!
It's a good school if you don't have any problems, however if you have an issue with a staff member, or scheduling you're almost better switching to a different school. You are blocked at every turn and if you try to consult the dean they will just tell you that they can not tell others how to do their job. There only a few (4 at the most) instructors that truly care about the students and their personal success. As for the others they are there for a paycheck and that is all.
I went to WITcc for automotive tech for 2 years, passed and graduated. But...... My first year was all about building shop cars the school made $$$ on. The car building did not pertain to the class details. Was supposed to learn how to use …
I've taken a range of classes here, including art, graphic design, literature and math courses. It's a wonderful environment with supportive staff and interesting/engaging teachers. They have an excellent new student center with really nice fitness equipment and a great track.
I went to WITCC for two years & earned my Associates Degree. I transferred to another school to get my Bachelors Degree & the transition was incredibly smooth! I saved a ton of money by choosing WITCC for my first two years & got to keep my …
For the most part I really enjoyed my time at Witt and am considering coming back. My main issue was that testing center lady. I had taken the CNA course and was all done clinicals. The 2nd time I took the computer portion I accidentally …
WITCC was my first college experience. Graduated Police Science in 1998. As another reviewer put it, this is a great place to start your Law Enforcement career, among many other fantastic programs. Would highly recommend. I traveled from Colorado to attend WITCC.
When I started going to WIT, they told everyone that enrolls in classes for a year or more and graduates, they get to keep the laptops that were given out at the beginning... Today I found out, two weeks before I graduate, I need 2000points …
Just had to order my books online because the book store can't get their act together. Also disgruntled about last semester I " graduated" just to find out i have to retake a class. What college let's a student participate in graduation …
I am a Police Science graduate from back in 1998. WITCC was cutting edge at the time I moved from CO to IA and they have always kept up with current trends and technology. by expanding the program offering, classrooms and the technology itself. I would highly recommend WITCC to launch a successful educational journey.
I go to University of Iowa and I wanted to get some classes done online at WIT in the summer. I applied and received an email saying I should be getting an email back from WIT regarding my login but weeks later I still haven't recieved …
I give WITCC a D- and would not recommend to any new or returning students. The teachers are extremely poor at relaying information, being personal or teaching relatable skills. Using a online school and any e-learning class will be be much better, because at WITCC you wont get a quality education.
