I’ve been coming here for about 10 years, love it but I wish they’d install baby changing tables in the restroom. Today I took my eldest for his eye appointment and had to bring my 2 month old. When I went to change him, they had no restroom with a changing table. I had to change him on the floor unfortunately, this was extremely upset if you can imagine. Other than that, I’ve always enjoyed coming here for my eyes to be checked.

I've come here since I was a kid. Lately its been horrible. Took months to get an appointment just to tell me in the waiting room that they dont accept my insurance anymore. Attempted to come back after paying elsewhere, took off work and got there at 1:30 on a Friday and they were closed! Rang the bell and was rudely told they were closed, thats why the door was locked!

This place is unprofessional and not customer friendly. First of all I went there for an eye appointment that I made a month ago after I had a comprehensive exam at this same establishment. I checked in at the front desk and the receptionist told me to go to unit 1. I go to unit one and there was no one waiting in line. So I stood at the front desk, and the receptionist was sitting down. She looked at me and then she looked back down doing whatever she was doing prior with no acknowledgment of me. So I sat down across from her. She then look at me and said what is your name and what are you here for. Remind you I already told her that I had an appointment. She then just hands me a sheet of paper stating how much I need to pay for the services, and said go to the cashier. I proceeded to go to the cashier. I arrived at the cashier desk. Again no hi , how you doing, or acknowledgement. She looked at me and then she looks back down. So I put the paper in the slot and then she took it and look at it. About a minute went by without her saying anything to me. And then she looked at me as if I know what she wanted me to do and she quickly nod her head to the payment machine. So then the manager or someone come rushing stating that I received the wrong itemized payment and that it was for an acute care visit. And she told the cashier to cancel the payment, which she did. By this time I was fed up. I said to the manager that your team doesn’t have good customer service etiquette and how did this mistake happen when I already had an appointment for said services that I needed. So when I went back with the manager to unit 1, she said how are you paying. I told her self pay as I had did prior appointments. Her and another worker proceeded to inquire if I had insurance and that I would have to pay a lot of money now and for any subsequent services at this establishment. And that I should try to find somewhere closer to my home or within the insurance carrier that I have. I was totally dumbfounded. Who are they to tell me where to go for my services. If I have the money to pay for it then why is it of their concern. I was dressed appropriately. I am a professional and I have dealt with clients and I would never question someone’s abilities to pay for services rendered unless the client was giving some inclination that they were having financial difficulties. I said to them both that I have already felt uncomfortable with the lack of professional conduct of this establishment and based on the unprofessional conduct that has occurred from the two of them trying to dissuade me from getting services at this establishment, that it was time for me to leave. Again I told them that I had no problems paying for services rendered. My main concern was keeping my eye health together. Is this what healthcare has succumb to 🧐🤨

Super thorough exams. Took 3 hours for me and 2 for my wife. Students are friendly and do a great job, but it takes way too long for a yearly eye exam. It also took a long time while we were being fitted for glasses. It’s been more than two weeks and we are still waiting on the glasses we chose. Probably wouldn’t go back.

For patients: The students are wonderful; they are very informed and determined. Enjoyable personalities. Great atmosphere for anyone wanting an eye exam. For prospective students: The school itself however is disappointing. Other than the curriculum and placement (Chicago is wonderful) there is not much. The cafeteria is absolutely horrendous. The library needs to be updated. The dorms/dorm kitchen you can forget about; think about a small box and then try living in it. Very small fitness area. You'd think they'd keep it up to date with all the money they're sucking from their students and donations. I was also surprised at how rude some of the staff was. Proceed with caution.

Was scheduled for a last minute appointment due to losing a contact lens and was scheduled within a very timely manner. I had the pleasure of being seen by Tenley and Dr. Harthan. Both were very pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable. The appointment was very quick and thorough would recommend!

Incompetent and inefficient. While the students are wonderful, they give very unnecessarily thorough eye exams that last around 3-4 hours, compared to a regular 30 minute exam. I called THREE times in a week to order my contact lenses, and each time I was told to leave my information and they would call me back by the end of the day. I was never called or emailed, and on the third time I let them know that I would order from another Optometrist if they did not keep their word. It looks like the ICO doesn't care and after wasting so much time I will be ordering my lenses from somewhere else.
