Richland Community College

So far my experience has been less than ideal with strictly online courses. Some professors have had unrealistic expectations, provided unclear grading criteria, struggled with their own Canvas platform, and they are not required to seek feedback from students with a course review. Want to give feedback? Good luck doing so anonymously to avoid fear of repercussions. Rather than treating students as paying customers, which they are, the college and professors sometimes treat students as if they are workers reporting to them. If my work schedule only permits conducting school work on certain days or I need to work a week ahead in order to take a week off, I should not need to explain myself or, worse, be in fear of being dropped from a class. If a professor feels the need to micromanage the schedule for every student, they do not know what they are doing and should not be teaching adults. While Richland may offer plenty of higher education opportunities for current high school students, I would bet the majority of the student base do not fall in that category. Grown, likely working, adults do not need to be babysat or bogged down with useless "busy" work assignments to justify class credits.

Excellent food. Open only on Tuesdays and Thursdays due to this being run by students who are learning skills to be a chef. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts. The other picture is their fried burger and it was delicious as well.

My friends and I agree, going to Richland is really depressing. We go because it's cheap and in our district. I just kind of dealt with it until they canceled my degree program, and they're not giving a whole lot of help with figuring out what to do next. If you want to save money, this place is great. If you want to feel happy and satisfied going to school, I'd go somewhere else.

It was a great place to start my academic pursuit. Currently I am finishing my MBA at Millikin. It would have never happened without that first step at Richland. And now they do on site shield testing.

This school has amazing oppurtunities! I choose Richland because the instructors are not only there to teach you, but they also take the extra time to explain the homework. The academic success center is full of amazing people that are there to help tutor you through your homework to help you succeed in this college journey!

Love it at Richland great school if you are new want go for bachelor's somewhere make sure you go to trio even if you don't qualify they will make sure you are signed up for your proper classes and check out academic success center great program help with tutoring.
