Did my undergrad at MSU, everything was fine. Started grad school 2023, and it has been nothing but trouble from the start, and every single year after that from the financial aid office, and other depts. This year, 25-26, is the worst yet!!! I'm so fed up with their I don't give a crap about you attitude. I should not have to fight you to get an education. Do you want people to find another university? Because that is exactly what I'm considering doing. Unorganized, don't return phone calls, can't get issues resolved, don't care about students, huge lack of communication, doesn't disseminate important information in a timely fashion, it at all. It's just one thing after another, and it NEVER STOPS!!!! IT IS INFURIATING. Do yourself a favor, attend a better university. One that works as it should.
Cost, fees, and everything they can throw at you constantly change. Lie to students about help they will receive, deny all credits coming into college. Refuse to send transcripts that were paid. Accept loan & pell grant money on students behalf that no longer attend.
Jamel Temetrius Morant. Where do I even begin. The athleticism mixed with the speed and the lighting quick handle. He is the perfect point guard. Tee Morant. Thank you. I remember speaking to you in his Murray State days after games and how we both wished for your son to go to the NBA. Look at him now, tearing up the league in his 6th year. I remember being there when he dunked for the first time. He is legendary. Go be great son! Don't let nobody tell you different #CallTwelve #TheKidFromMurrayState
I am a transfer student that transferred over from Alabama and only spent one semester here. I am transferring once again to another university due to of how horrible this school is ran. If you are a transfer student, I urge you to not go here. They have gotten things wrong from the start. I am a junior taking freshman courses and they didn’t transfer over all my credits properly. Beyond that, I paid $200 to park in one area and not be able to park by my classes. They fine you for about anything! During breaks, they kick everyone out of there dorms even if they have no where else to go. If you have to be on the streets then that’s what it is. This university makes me sick and I have the worst experience. Some of the professors are nice and the classes are great but the overall student population I have noticed have been very rude. I was lied to from the beginning and then pushing my graduation date to an extra two years when I was meant to graduate next May had me from the start. Everything else just was an add on to this whole mess. But everyone has different experiences, this was just mine as a transfer student. Been a whole nightmare for me.
I graduated from MSU with a BSN in 2005, and then finished my masters program with a MSN in 2008. I learned a lot from the teachers and experiences I had there, and know that I made the best choice for me to progress in my career by graduating from MSU.
I would give a zero if possible worst shcool to go to they will set you back a year allways asking for more money nickel and diming you for every thing every one is rude teaching sucks had to go to this shcool because it was cheaper. But that's a mistake and they steal stuff out your dorm while your on break and it smells like weed every where on campus alot of students and some staff looks high shcool a joke so glad to not be there any more
I hate this school but I did get a good education. The teachers care about their students (most of them anyway), but everyone else just cares about money! When I came for summer o I had already been accepted and was excited to attend largely because of the low tuition costs. Then I get to course advising they tell me that I’m required to take a 1 credit hour class and if I take more than 15 credit hours I have to pay an extra $ 700 for each credit hour over! Either that or I would have to take 13 credit hours and be off track for graduation. Then I decided college wasn’t for me but I was so close to getting my associates I decided I’d switch my major to that and take two summer classes. I applied for graduation a little month late but was charged an extra $50 on my application and the semester ends tomorrow and they still haven’t approved me! I emailed them and they are dodging the question and not being helpful. If you live in Kentucky I’d recommend going here because it’s cheap for you but if you’re out if state go somewhere else.
Biology? Come here! Love the smaller class sizes, especially for upper level classes where it really counts. Lots of opportunities to get involved in research and local professionals that love volunteers from the university. A close knit community that is great to be in. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a smaller school that still can offer great opportunities for students.
Beautiful campus and friendly people. The shoe tree is unique and interesting
The school is very nice from the outside well kept. The inside of the dorms were nasty and very unkept. Looked like a old roach motel. I can't believe how much kids pay to stay in a very outdated dorm. Hart Hall
