Overview

The University of Louisiana Monroe has a history almost as rich and beautiful as the bayou that winds through its 238-acre campus. From its inception, it was constructed with one goal in mind – to serve the educational needs and desires of the people of northeast Louisiana. I earned my graduate degrees at ULM and they have paid off over and over. A beautiful campus in a wonderful city. I highly recommend!

Great college that isn't too big or small! Friendly atmosphere with great workers/employees/faculty.

I applied to ULM's Ed.D. program for Spring 2025 and met all deadlines, submitting my materials on December 16th for the December 20th deadline. Despite multiple calls where I was assured my application was decision-ready for Term 1, I was later told my application wasn’t reviewed until January 8th—after Term 1 closed—and was now being considered for Term 2. Prior to applying, I had read numerous 1-star reviews about how disorganized and incompetent the admissions office is, and unfortunately, my experience confirmed this. Graduate applicants deserve transparency, timely decisions, and professionalism to prepare for their studies—not delays and mismanagement. Very disappointing experience.

Terrible school for anything other than nursing. Professors show obvious bias against certain students who aren't Honors Society or Greek. Small campus leads to majorly toxic environment. Advisors are clueless. You will likely spend longer on your degree than needed because of how oblivious they are.

The absolute worst administration. I would not return to this school. In fact I’m watching the clock until I graduate and can leave. Sadly in at the end of my tumultuous experience, so I can’t leave, but don’t do it. Unless you want a stressful, headachy experience. Run!!!

This place is like home. One of the best places away from home to say the least. The place to grow and learn and even learn more about our community it is beautiful right by Oxford place which is even a plus plus it’s besides food places and everything you need on your way home from along day of learning and knowledge. It’s time to make learning cool again. We forget the day we stop learning is the day we die and I will never forget that so this makes this all too true. Thanks university of Louisiana Monroe for showing me one of the best experiences of my life I will come to never be able to forget till this day. Sending love and knowledge because with knowledge comes power

ULM is a Joke. More like the biggest mistake I ever made. The staff and professors put more effort into being difficult, rude, and disrespectful, not to mention unprofessional than they do their actual jobs. I should not have had to tell my professor of one of my undergraduate Psychology classes three times that the reason that I was late with a paper was because I was out of town because my dad was having a very important surgrey. There is usually a lot of drama going on in the psychology department and not enough focus on what needs to be focused on. Your told to keep up with the readings in the text book but the stuff the professors are usually talking about have absolutely nothing to do with what is in the textbook.Their basically up there just rambling about stuff and it really doesn't sound like they know what they are talking about. The professors are really creepy and they stalk their students. ULM and some of the people I met when I was there is the reason I don’t put up with nonsense anymore.

Great school for lots of programs. I'm a Tech grad personally, but I have grown to appreciate the awesome school we have right here in Monroe since living here and getting to know some of the faculty. It has been my honor to work with a few interns in their last semester.
