Doane University is a pretty small college located in Crete, NE but the campus is so green and beautiful. Students can walk all classes no needs to ride on bike or e-scooter. Also, each class sizes are pretty small between 5 to 50. Students are easily able to communicate to their professors during class. Of course, the location is very local and it might be hard to access there but it would be valuable for students studying at a small & beautiful campus like Doane.
I taught at Doane University for seventeen years. It's a very good school with great professors and many programs from which to choose. Nebraska is an awesome state, and Lincoln is my favorite city in America (I've lived all over the United States, too). If you're looking for a personalized education where you'll get lots of attention from your professors - and if you'd like a peaceful setting in which to pursue your studies - then I'd highly consider Doane University as you contemplate where you'd like to pursue your higher education. Grade: A
Beautiful campus in Crete, and top-rate facilities! The technology is amazing, especially the keyless entry system! Top-rate and classy!
Do NOT bring your dogs to any sporting events held here. We have brought our 2 well-behaved smaller dogs to all of our Sons games this season, and every location has been very welcoming of our fur babies being there. We did not have the same welcoming vibe as we did with other colleges Upon arrival, we weren't sure where to sit , we decided to walk all the way to the farther bleachers, assuming that was the side for the away team fans, we reached the bleachers only to be told that we couldn't sit there Ok, so we walk all the way back to the opposite side & we decided to stand by the fence and wait for the current game to end , seconds after standing by the fence a guy on a golf cart rushes up to us to tell us that dogs are not allowed in the stands ok fine rules are rules but he did not need to be so rude and grouchy about the situation . This same man watched over us the entire game, giving us dirty looks We just wanted to watch our Sons game. My husband said that the mens bathroom 🚻 floor had urine all over the floor. Maybe less attention on guarding empty bleachers and families with dogs and more attention to the nasty bathroom. We are so grateful that other college campuses have been so welcoming & and friendly. We could NOT wait to leave THIS campus !
Amazing school; located in the hills and surrounded by adult trees. Feels like it's from New England. One of the pretty places in Nebraska. Education is good. Sports are subpar, but that's not why you go to this school. Town is small, but growing fast. Has a number of business, including Crete Trucking is headquartered here. Nestle Purina factory as well. You are also less than 30mins from Lincoln and 1 hour from Omaha, so you can have some night life/shopping too. I prefer the quiet small towns though. Only thing I wish this school had was a RN/Nursing program.
I grew up right across from Doane so I was up there quite a bit and got to know the campus. The campus is beautiful with two ponds and gorgeous flowers and kids running around.
Harvard of the Midwest. A fantastic school with a classic look, yet featuring modern buildings, and absolutely wonderful students, professors, coaches and staff. Visit here before you decide, they offer many scholarship options and a very high graduation rate. A truly wonderful educational experience that you must see to believe.
AVOID THIS SCHOOL!! This schools administration is full of liars and theives. I went here and these shysters changed my financial aid at the end of the year! I received a letter saying they counted the VA benefits I was getting as family contribution and tried to also take away my Pell grant. Long story short I fought and was able to keep Pell grant but they did charge me over $7,000 at the end of school year and wouldn't release transcripts until I was paying them. DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL!! Side note, HALF of the freshman class I was part of left after the first semester.
Small, town is dead! Campus looks bad. Understaffed. However, the People here is what makes Doane! Visit us and take a tour, visit us. You'll see it's the people that make want to be a Doane Tiger!
Our daughter attended and graduated. She was able to take classes in high school from Doane as well. A small tight knit community that looks out for its people
