University of Maryland Eastern Shore

I definitely would never recommend anyone along their child to attend this university especially if they're a female. The university does not provide a safe environment and sticks to a policy where any incident results in both people being guilty. So if you are being physically assaulted or sexually assaulted you are told to never fight back. My daughter was assaulted three times in a row by her roommate and before the assault happened she went to her RA and told her that her roommate was becoming very hostile and they did not do anything thus allowing my daughter to be attack repeatedly in her room. The third time she attempted to fight back to protect herself and we had to call the police but the university without reviewing the police report said that she was guilty for fighting back. Everyone from the head of RA to the vice president stated that she was wrong for fighting back and is now suspended. This is not a safe environment and this as traumatize my child. I would never allow any child to attend here if you have any concern over their safety and their well-being. What I would like to see changed is that the university actually follows policy and protects their students.

Unorganized, they also lie about the programs they have to offer. Big waste of time and money.

The worst graduate school anyone could go to. Do not I repeat do NOT attend the cybersecurity and engineering masters program. It’s VERY unorganized.

UMES is absolutely great. Classes are definitely competitive for those there to learn. Programs are wonderful along with the people. Food can have some improvements though but its not disappointing. My experiences were awesome, even for an introvert like me I had a blast. Piece of advice though, go there to learn so you can represent the University. If graduation rates are low is due to the fact many people are not willing to put the effort. In part this is due to the loose admission process. Also not a problem but It will be nice for more hispanics to be targeted for admission. Just a bit more of cultural diversity.

Not sure why it’s ranked top 10 school but I wouldn’t recommend nobody start they college career here u want something more serious, don’t wanna get robbed of ur tuition?, I can go on and on but overall school is horrible

I'm about 3 steps away from withdrawing my daughter from this school. They give you the run around for basic questions...nobody responds back to emails (it's been 3 months) and magically everyone goes to lunch when you call them on the phone. This school is unprofessional and a hassle.

My experience with this university was not pleasant. I applied for a postgraduate course and PAID money for my application to be processed by their department. Guess what, after some long time of not hearing back from them I sent them many emails asking about the status of my application and got no response. really bad and unprofessional behavior by the program coordinator. Was waste of time and money to apply for this university.

Umes is a great school; don't let anyone fool you ;before you judge it get more information about the school. My experience here I always found instructors here who want you to do your best and push you to be successful. Success isn't determined by the school it's determined by you. Don't waste you time and money. The classes are a joke and the University keeps changing there credit criteria so you spend a more time and money jumping though their ever changing hoops, trying to get to graduation! The University is only concern it's self and it's image and has no respect or concern for their students!!!
