I’ve been trying to re-enroll in the Legal Studies program at William Woods and keep hitting walls. I followed every step—submitted the re-entry form, made payments, reached out to multiple departments—and still can’t get clear answers on when the next term starts, what classes I need, or if my tuition rate is still locked in. Instead of answers, I’m passed around or ignored. Advising, financial aid, and other staff either deflect or don’t reply at all. I’m trying to plan my finances and coursework to stay on track and graduate, but the lack of support is making that impossible. I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA and stayed committed through personal setbacks, but this has been frustrating and discouraging. At this point, I’m seriously considering transferring. The school claims to support adult learners, but that hasn’t been my experience. If you’re looking for responsiveness or structure, I’d be cautious.
I recently made a visit to William Woods as an accepted student. The very personal and caring treatment is amazing! All the staff was more than delighted to see me and were so excited I was there! This is a definite choice for anyone who wants that personal touch with their school.
A wonderful university. We attended for an equestrian event and the grounds were beautiful and the staff we interacted with were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful!
I couldn't have chosen a better place to spend the past four years. William Woods University was not only the university I received my degree from, but a place that became my second home. Whether it's the staff, faculty, coaches, or other students on campus, everyone there is tremendous. Ever since I stepped foot on campus on my first college visit, I could tell that each professor and faculty member was passionate about what they did and genuinely cared about each student that crossed their path. I would not be the person I am today without having had such a great collegiate experience, and William Woods University is to thank for that!
To be honest my first year here has been a nightmare they say the accommodate students with 504s and things like that but i didn’t get mine till half way also they say oh if you are just not showing up or struggling we will reach out they never did. I got so depressed at one point that I did not feel like showing up to class because stress got a hold of me and I was struggling so bad there because help was not available and no one reached out when my grades started slipping. I lost my scholarship for the outdoor sports program as my gpa was not high enough and no one was willing to work with me to be like hey I see your grades are going down what can we help with so you keep your gpa up? Like they said they would when we gone to look at the school. They just with no warning up and said your gpa is bad now you have no scholarship anymore. I can’t afford to go there anymore because the scholarship was the only thing that was even making it possible. I worked so hard in classes to pass with no help like I was supposed to have and I still failed. Some of the friends I made there also are leaving because of how poorly they have been treated there. I had such high hopes for this school but it was a nightmare instead.
This campus is not disability friendly but the new disability services is attempting to help. Students with disabilities are paying more to have access to necessary utilities due to their health since only one dorm building is accessible. There are a lot of improvements that need to be made but the available programs are fantastic.
William Woods University is so amazing I cannot even begin to describe how much I love it. I found the University because of the fabulous Equestrian Program but have been able to find and experience so much more while attending. Having the ability to be a college athlete, a student, an equestrian, as well as involved in multiple other clubs and organizations is something that no other University offers. The Woods is truly unique, not only because of its programs, but because of the wonderful, friendly atmosphere that is felt the moment one steps on campus. I have two more years left in my college career and I might take on another minor just so I have more time here. I would highly recommend this University to everyone.
William Woods is one of the decisions I could never regret making when it comes to choosing a school. This university has helped me to grow not only socially but personally by making new friends and having different experiences that I can share with those friends. William Woods is a great choice because the teachers are willing to work with students and help them to become successful in any course of study. The environment of a small school has really helped me to connect with the faculty and other students in a way that has only made a positive impact on my life.
The locals are all creepy. Had one missing all her teeth swerve and try to run me over w/her car. Dilapidated drug houses separated by a wire fence surrounding campus. You cant combine scholarships. No academic with athletic or extras.(i.e. Choir and media). The living requirements are absurd. They require you to live on campus UNTIL YOU ARE 23! That's an extra 10K/yr + required meal plan of 4K+. I was told I had to live on campus the first year, then after I submit my deposit, it became age 23. The dorm bathrooms don't have locks. At any moment, 3 other people from 2 other rooms can barge in on you. Additionally, on their website, it says they offer residency waivers. I made it clear I lived on a farm and needed to return home to help my mom. After I paid the deposit, I was told "we do not do waivers. The requirements are on our website and we DO adhere to them". Obviously not, because the website says you offer waivers. And then they claim they don't. Just another $$ hungry U. Applying is a pain too. At the end of it tall, I had filled out three applications all from their website, just to be told 2 of them were from third party websites. Also, one of the ASL instructors was kinda rude- not to me but to Mr. John. I knew some sign and we were communicating back and forth so there wasn't a reason for me to look at the lady interpreting for him behind me. At one point, it became necessary for me to do so and when I turned around, she was making these absolutely obnoxious facial expressions (arching her brows and doing this weird wiggly tongue thing like she was silent yodeling.. or choking to death, idk which) and exaggerated mouth motions. Very disrespectful to Mr. John and completely unnecessary. Also, as of January 20th 2023 they still have not sent out my tuition refund. Ridiculous. When I asked why it had not been sent out Edie told me she could not tell me because it "wasn't her department"
I loved my time spent at William Woods University! I had such an amazing undergrad experience that I decided to do the MBA in 5 program through William Woods. William Woods helped me branch out to join organizations and run for executive positions that I never would have done if I were at another school. I've made friends and connections that will last a lifetime. My professors were great and I learned so much through real world applications in my classes. William Woods is a second home to me and I couldn't imagine a better place to be at for my last four years!

Loved the campus, such a friendly staff. The Gladys Kemper Center for the Arts is the best. Professors are amazing and really know their stuff.

Very good small university. They dont have to take all comers. Sign language and equestrian studies dominate the student body. Very glad my daughter made the decision to attend this excellent institution of higher learning.
I really enjoyed my time at WWU. I loved the size of the school as it is large enough to where you are constantly able to meet new people but small enough to where you see plenty of friends. As far as the areas of study, they don't just …
My best advice, find another school. They dont care about their traditional students at all. The kind of place that will spend 50,000 dollars on a statue, or even more on an amphitheatre that gets used rarely, and not a dime on repairing or …
This is only my first eight weeks of online learning at WWU. Academically, it has been challenging,b I have learned a lot while studying to become a paralegal. My only complaint is their financial aid department. It is the end of my first …
I wouldn't attend this University again simply because their website is terrible. It's not user friendly, you can never find what you want, and when you do find the link you want, there's usually an incomplete page. Their email is one of …
