This is the most beautiful college campus! š It has a lot of of greenery, beautiful brick buildings, open fields and it has plenty of handicap/stroller friendly access! Love it here ā¦
Wake Forest University has long since moved on from its reputation as a regional senior college affiliated with the Baptist church. Now a nationally prominent, comprehensive research university, Wake Forest is also no longer controlled by the Baptists. Things have moved on. Still quite conservative, this university is a diverse blend of liberal arts, sciences, and professional schools of engineering, business, law and medicine. There is also a thriving athletic program. The neo-Georgian campus is absolutely stunning and is an interesting counterpoint to Duke's academic neo-Gothic. Wake Forest is part of the unofficial Southern Ivy group that includes Duke, Rice, Vanderbilt, Tulane, Emory, SMU and Miami.
Universities should be free of bias whether it's right or left. It should be a free thinking place and they try their damnedest to make the campus unfriendly to people who just want to learn.
While is is a beautiful campus baseball coach Tom Walter should be fired for his remarks. Shame on Wake Forest if they keep this man on staff. He is a terrible role model. He said the language coming out of his mouth doesn't reflect his values. I say if he didnāt have those values it would not have fallen out of his mouth.
Happy to be an alumni. Only issue is that there's no city life and it's almost a little too quiet out here
On the forefront of Leftist cults that indoctrinate the most narrow, partisan, viewpoints possible and discriminate, bully, shun Conservatives/Conservative viewpoints. How utterly insufferable it would be to have a functioning brain and any degree of objectivity and have to endure propaganda at an institution like this one.
Cool place, they donāt allow umbrellas in the stadium though. Be sure to check the website for any restrictions for their events before walking up to the gate. Clear bag policy, too. Mascot is demon deacons.
Nice, beautiful campus. Excellent fine arts center with great production staff.
Every mistake I ever made before or since COMBINED do not equal the mistake I made in going here. From classes I disliked, to a bizarre social life, to the pervasive alcohol abuse, to a bigoted culture. They even proudly discriminate against women in admissions! Constant faculty turmoil over "academic freedom" and "grade inflation." The "liberal arts" tradition apparently includes anti-technology snobbery. Do not even dream of studying Science here. If you like Political Science or Women's Studies, then fine. Otherwise stay far away. (remember this post when you discover I was right). I should add that this is a suburban campus, unlike any school I have visited. There is no town within walking distance. Without a car, you are stranded. This includes basketball and football games which are held off-campus. I was reminded the other day about a quote from one of the administrators who said: "we are declining government grants, so as not to be influenced by Jews and other atheists." Just think about that for a minute. Not even politics, just bigotry. Time for an update: So this year, the administration called upon a biased media hack, who lies about politics to advance a leftist agenda as commencement speaker. Really? Journalism is supposed to be about UNBIASED reporting. That a school that is supposed to be dedicated to truth would support a propaganda artist, should show you what you need to know. Do not go here. Do not send them your money.
Just had a tour with my daughter. We were very impressed with everything, especially their support system, quality of education, and very safe for everyone.
