I went to school their in the late 90's, and it was excellent. The campus has grown so much from when I went there. One of the main things I loved was the student to professor ratio. I felt a lot of individual attention. Definitely recommend.
Mars Hill University has a long history of tradition and honor and it continues to this day. How rare is it to have a university tucked away in such cozy place still find time to establish itself so well. Beautiful landscaping and the buildings have an amazing architecture style!
The overall University was fine but I went there to watch my daughter play softball. The softball stadium, if stadium is a good word for what it was, desperately needed better bleachers, more seating in general, more parking, and a better maintained field. It seems almost all colleges and universities, unless top D1's, have trouble getting and having their fields maintained properly.
Nice campus, alot of up hill walking since it's in the mountains, nice community and great school
My daughter is a sophomore at Mars Hill University. She is part of the Acro Tumbling Team. She is working very hard and loves her experience at Mars Hill.
A beautiful campus filled with homely styled buildings and large native trees, set just west of town, it makes for a lovely setting of a jaunt.
My grandson paticipated for a soccer camp. He flew all the way from Streamwood Illinois, he loved it. The competition and specially your coach, I understand he is Scottish. Very, very nice gentleman, he took the time to introduce himself to all the parents. My grandson was very impressed. 🥰👍🙏
I went there for a semester and I'm so glad I transferred. With only 1,072 students when I attended, it's clear that nobody goes there that isn't an athlete or from around that area. The campus always gave me a ghost town feel. If you like being far from civilization, it's perfect because it's in the middle of nowhere. The student union and gym were absolutely useless with most things being broken and 30 years old. It's not like it's cheap either. Why not just spend the same amount of money at a better college? Bigger schools are so much better. Positive things include the new buildings like Day hall, nursing building, Ferguson. My teachers were good though.
Attending and graduating from Mars Hill was one of the most influential experiences of my life. The professors and staff embrace the students. This is truly a family type setting where students can and will get individualized assistance and support as needed. The professors I had the pleasure to learn from back in the early 1990's helped me to become a better student and young adult. I cannot speak highly enough about having the priviledge to say I graduated from this university. GO LIONS!
Mars Hill provides an excellent education with cream of the crop professors and majors offered by only one or two institutions in the state. The historic campus is beautiful though historic significance is given little thought outside of the quad with numerous properties acquired and demolished by the campus to make way for new construction. General disrepair occurs all over campus, namely in dormitories. Staff is excellent and generally helpful in all departments (registrar, financial aid, etc.). Tuition is absurdly overpriced, dining is adequate, and student activities are lacking.
Place use to be nice when it was a college not that it's a university Mars Hill is horrible the university cares about Noone but them selves all they want is to pad there pockets destroy the nice town tear down old historic buildings and beautiful big trees I'm ashamed to say I live in Mars hill
I stayed at Mars Hill for an event and was shocked at how terrible the campus was. For how expensive tuition is ($42,560 at the time of this review), the facilities are in egregious disrepair. …
Spent the morning on a campus tour. Our guide is very involved on campus which made him a great resource for information. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet the president who was very welcoming.
I actually just left, it was a nice university, however, the dressing room I was in, well it had stuff coming off the walls all over the floor, along with the ceiling being damaged and chincks of it being in the floor, and there was a bunch of styrofoam in the floor, but other than that it was good.
Graduation a joke.glad I'm outa kids. Quick update.both of our kids went on to graduate school elsewhere.our youngest at university of Tennessee. Can honestly state both of them should have gone there to begin with.the nursing program at Mars Hill is a joke.
Cherished my time there. And I first learned there what I have instilled in every job since I left that you get out what you put in. Sometimes it was hard but it was well worth it. Its best asset is its faculty and staff who are always supportive and caring.
Played tennis on the university courts. Great courts. Park at the lot next to Harrel and take the paved path between the football field and the baseball field to get to the courts.
Mars Hill has a beautiful campus, friendly staff and faculty, and great students. I graduated from Mars Hill in 2017 and had a great experience.
Horrible college. Tournament was uncoordinated, you would think the team that host would have good sportsmanship but they were the RUDEST people I have ever met
No handicap bathrooms and no handicap seating on baseball field. Beautiful baseball field.
