So far, I have enjoyed my journey with Carrington. At the beginning of signing up, communication was unclear, and follow-up was pretty much nothing, unless I contacted them first. I am enrolled in the online program and learning a lot. I am hopeful it is what I need to get a job I want, doing billing and coding. My instructors have been fantastic, knowledgeable, helpful, and overall very good. The encouragement they give each week is nice! Allowing us to review them is a step in the right direction. I would refer someone to Carrington. What I am learning is worth the cost. How do you put a price on knowledge and skill to better yourself? Thank you!
Extremely disappointing admissions experience. Over the course of just three months, I was assigned three different admissions representatives, each one seemingly more uninformed than the last. The constant turnover and lack of communication made the entire process incredibly frustrating and disorganized. It left me seriously questioning what the overall student experience would be like if they can’t even manage the first step properly. Ultimately, I chose to enroll at TMCC instead. It’s worth noting that this school appears to have more applicants than it can handle, which may explain the lack of care or attention shown during the application and enrollment process. Unfortunately, that attitude comes through loud and clear.
The medical assistant program is absolutely spectacular! This college is inspirational, Educational, and Magnificent for building careers.
If you can pick anywhere else to go, skip Carrington and go there. Not only are the program fees much higher than other comparable colleges, the communication I've had from this place has been abysmal at best. I use my student loan overages for living expenses, same as a lot of other students. Well, they're still behind on giving me 2 reimbursements. I've emailed my financial aid officer, Ana, and she says it's the billing department's fault. I ask for the number to the billing department and she never responds. So, I go over Ana's head and wouldn't you know it, I also don't get a response from the head of financial aid, Patricia. I'm owed $2,200 and no one can answer where that money is at. Funnily enough, I just emailed Ana again 10 days ago and you guessed it, no response. You're just dollar signs to this place, nothing more. You WILL be left to figure things out on your own, you WON'T be supported, and you WILL be left to chase down your money while getting ZERO responses from the school. Save yourself the headache and the time, and pick literally ANY OTHER SCHOOL than Carrington. Your mental health will thank you.
Lack of communication. There is a few people I have to thank though...Scot, Tammy, Thalia, and to my professor Chris, last but not least my first professor Miss Morrison. They had the patience I needed to graduate my MBC Some people that should be part of Carrington college they don't have the means to be transparent but not nice 😞. I could say more but I think I've said enough. Not a lot of info is told when applying to be a student
Carrington College in Reno does not care about student success. I have been in contact with their “Director of Enrollment Services” while applying to the nursing program. I have been ignored multiple times for weeks and lied to. They are unwilling to work with you and give a 3 weeks notice that you’ve been accepted into the program and have to be there. What about out of state students? What about students that live there and have jobs? Are they just supposed to drop everything with little to no notice? I live out of state and was told I could push a class to 2nd semester so I wouldn’t have to be in person until Jan 2023. I received my acceptance after MONTHS of waiting and was they said this was never a possibility.
I currently enrolled in the medical assisting program and, while going through substitutes every week they finally got a new teacher and oh my goodness Ms. Dear is heaven sent. She is down to earth, takes the time to instruct us the right way, and overall is very loving and you can tell she loves what she does as an instructor!! Hiring Ms. Dear was the best decision for the MA program. shes amazing!
I completed both the Medical Assisting program and the online Associates in Health Sciences program. The teachers at this school are amazing and so beyond supportive. Mrs. Hoovler is by far the best teacher I’ve ever had. During my time with the Associates degree Craig would call to check in and make sure everything was ok and if I needed any questions. It’s not a big school so the teachers and other staff can really connect with the students and help in any way that you need. In the end I became certified and found a job just one month after completing the MA program. I plan to take the nursing program through Carrington and recommend everyone to Carrington College, you will not be disappointed!
It’s a good place when you have certain classes. Being in my 4th semester I hope anyone that gets A&P 1&2 really understands that the teacher is bad and we all know who it is even with plenty of complaints there has been no change to her curriculum that helps student pass effectively. So be prepared to repeat A&P a few times. Also if you are even a bit off the dress code or forget an article of clothing or wear a sweater over your scrub top be prepared to have Mary follow you around and argue with you constantly without any communication. I’ve had this experience, my friends have had this experience and other students as well. A warning would be sufficient enough but she goes above her station to follow you around campus. This school is very strict despite other schools and even actual hospitals having more compassion than some of the staff here.
I HIGHLY recommend anyone to attend this school. The faculty are nurses from the fields they teach and I have never before worked with such a dedicated group of instructors. The staff are likewise dedicated and very helpful. When I graduated I felt like I was leaving behind family! I have attended several colleges while studying for my prerequisites and Carrington exceeded my prior experiences in both quality of instruction and overall professional experience.
