My family went to a college open house at Franklin & Marshall. The school seems fantastic. The administrative staff and the faculty were very informative and friendly. The students seem to like the school a lot. The dorms were a decent size. The campus small but beautiful. The food selection is decent. My kiddo ate the same thing every time…pesto pasta. I tried the omelette and my husband the pizza. I can definitely see the freshman 15 being gained. It is fairly easy to get to the school if you live in NYC and don’t want to drive. It is about a 3.5 hour Amtrak ride. The downside is that there doesn’t seem to be a lot to do in the community of Lancaster itself. The school is a Liberal Arts College and the area around it seems to be pretty conservative. This for us is a fairly big negative….however there are a lot of pros for us to consider.
Such a pretty campus, well maintained, plenty of great restaurants and close to downtown Lancaster. I love to walk/longboard around the area!
Truly one of the great liberal arts colleges in the United States. I know it well, after a year-long fellowship.
Love this school. Made me smarter 😎 …
beautiful place, college looks like a fairy tale. It fascinates the connection of the faculty with the Lancaster community. The architecture of the building is perfect, the place ideal for schooling. The chirping of birds and the chirping of crickets and a multitude of squirrels and rabbits lead to a place that is ideal for staying
I am a freshman student at Franklin and Marshall College and I must say that I love my college. This place is amazing. The community is very closely-knit and everyone is always ready to help. The college has great facilities available to students and classes are very interesting and engaging. Professors and staff members are always ready to assist whether you need help in academic matters, or you just need to talk to someone about your concerns. The academic atmosphere is very motivating. As for the campus life, it is very exciting, and a lot of fun. Events are organized nearly every week. I have been here for two months and I have greatly enjoyed this experience. I love F&M!!!
Here for a summer camp. Campus is beautiful. Lots of squirrels.
We love this College! It is a perfect fit for our child and he is getting a wonderful education. I know Covid has been a nightmare for everyone, but let me tell you that F&M really kept their education at the same level during the virtual phase. Can't be happier with the way the school has supported the kids during this crazy time as well. I highly recommend looking at this school for your college bound student.
I'm currently a freshman here and so far I feel this is truly a home from home! Academics: simple excellent. Natural sciences here are very great. Profs are very approachable and really helpful. Word load may be heavy but definitely worth it if you study hard. People: laid-back, cheerful, fun, spirited and determined but not overly-competitive. Very comfortable to be with. Can easily find my own niche in this college. Campus: pretty small compared to other colleges but I love it this way. You can go to anywhere on campus real quick and easy. Dorms are spacious (at least in my dorm). Food is okay/good. There are quite a few events going on on campus. Basically this college is a greatttt fit for me and I love it!
Lovely campus. Well designed and maintained. Beautiful architecture and earth works. The bibs on their bikes are cute af. No bother there. Plenty of youngins to ignore, a few intelligent ones worth talking to as well.
