What an amazing experience. The Move In reception fantastic. All the students that were there available to help carry your things to the dorm. So friendly. The ambience fantastic. Five stars 🌟 🤩 ✨️ 💛 👌 …
Beautiful school! Didn’t get to do a tour but managed to be told about all the hidden gems by the amazing librarian that has worked there for 20 years! Showed us the wall of fame on the 3rd floor. Amazing. Loved the charm of all the nestled buildings. Can’t wait to go back for a tour.
Graduated from here in 2014 with a bachelors in history, English, cultural anthropology and underwater archaeology. Graduated from Providence College to years later with a masters in history, then went on to get a PhD in history from Boston College. Served in the US Army for eight years prior as a medic and journalist. Many of my friends from high school went here. It was a different world back then, the students were cheerful and social and welcoming. My experience was not quite the same. Many, though not all of the student body can be divided into three general groups: The stoners, the drinkers, The Greeks. The students come here not to actually learn and apply themselves but to get high and party and play the field, scowling at those of us who actually come here for a legit education. I did not live on campus, but from what I understand the dorms are absolutely disgusting. They constantly reek of weed vomit and stale alcohol. Used condoms litter the vast majority of the campus. I rented a beach house the whole time that I was there, three bedrooms just for myself. I was a good quiet tenant, and eventually bought my first house off of the people that I rented off of while going here for four years. A lot of the students here also like to protest and create disarray wherever they can. They park on peoples lawns, vandalized the streets, smash glass and break things, parties are out of control, they park illegally in handicap spaces, and are generally, although not entirely, rude, trashy, and very ill mannered. My experience at Providence College was the exact polar opposite. Yes, you have some of the elements of college life such as drinking and partying, but it was done much more discreetly. At Providence College, I had a much more professional experience and interacted with a more refined and professional, motivated and hygienic phylum of college student. It’s very disappointed that the staff in the student body can be so complacent so as to conduct themselves in such a trashy, gutter manner. The campus looks as rundown as a ghetto. It’s a good value for your money, but if you can go somewhere else I highly recommend it because the atmosphere on campus is absolutely deplorable. I lived off campus, so I can’t say much about dorm life and dining facilities, but from what I have heard and what I have seen they are likely to be equally as repulsive as the students that they serve. Dreadful, miserable place. I would also avoid the English department at all costs. Many of them seem to be radical feminist to absolutely and openly despise men. They have a 25% drop out rate for a freshman. Not too surprising considering the lack of mentoring and positive influence here. Last but not least, they are currently being sued for discriminating against Caucasians.... Another red flag to further suggest that the melon formed population here has been led by toxic leadership into a profound state of ideological disarray.
Likes: some good programs (engineering, pharmacy, nuclear, ocean eng., etc), fairly nice campus, student involvement is adequate, Emporium (Rhode house), IEP house. Dislikes: PC culture (we got an email offering counseling to students after Trump was elected), towing, price of parking pass (over 250$ last I checked), dining hall food, parking availability (parking is the worst), most frats/sororities (some are chill, majority are not).
Amazing rink, really good food on campus.
Beautiful Campus in a pristine location well suited for private study!
The best school I had the privilege in going to. Some of the best staff, food, and overall atmosphere.
I personally didn’t take the college route. Although I spent a fair amount of time here due to my ex girlfriend attending this college and it seems pretty well organized and fun though! I always say if I did go to college, it would’ve been URI. Great atmosphere.
A beautiful campus, with excellent services
I had a great time at the State Summer Games
