Overall, the quality of the professors has vastly declined since I attended twenty years ago. My daughter currently attends an advanced High School program on campus, and takes the same classes as college age students - she could teach some of the courses better than the current 'professor'. There is very little student support, and the professors are not nearly knowledgeable enough in their subjects to provide engaging curriculum. It saddens me to see my alma mater going downhill.

Daughter is a Freshman there this year. I’m completely impressed with the campus And the dorms are amazing never seen ones so nice. The student resources are the highlight for me, the learning lab for learning disabilities is simply perfect. The leader for this department is best I’ve ever encountered personally with care for the students and the protection they deserve and providing tools for them to overcome any challenges they will face.

I tried to get info on transferring from my current master's program. I filled out the info on the website and then used the link they sent me to schedule an appointment. Then I kept getting calls to schedule an appointment. Someone called me 20 minutes before my appointment and tried to book me with someone else even though I told her I had been receiving confirmations and reminders. Obviously she gets credit for booking people. Then Karen Rojas called me at my appointment time and asked me twice if I knew we had an appointment. I asked if the program was COAMFTE accredited. She didn't know what that was and said she needed to reschedule me to answer that. I googled it and said that it was so we continued. When I asked if their program only has the 60 hour masters for the TX required hours or if they allowed shorter programs for licensing requirements in other states. My state only requires a 45 hour masters. She told me I would have to talk to someone in licensing. My question wasn't a licensing question. It was a question about the program. She said several things, one of them being that I should only take 45 credits. When I asked her if that would get me a degree she said no. When I asked what she had meant she said she only ever said they had a 60 hour program. I told her that I had the information I needed to make my decision and ended the call. It was the most frustrating 13 minutes I've invested in a while.

One of the worst universities for Veterans to attend. The Veteran's Affairs office is extremely unresponsive through email, and you can barely reach them via phone. Once you finally speak to someone, you'll get contradicting or misleading information. They also will not report the accurate number of hours you are taking to the VA Dept of Edu. Class is supposed to start at the end of the month, and they still haven't reported the correct number of hours. Not to mention, since I am a grad student, the advisors are responsible for registering you for classes. I find this to be unproductive since they take a week or more to even respond back. Overall, I am not happy with this university and will likely drop my classes and go elsewhere to receive an education.

We had a good time here tonight as spectators of the Lamar University vs. Central Arkansas University football game. Tough loss for Lamar tonight but Coach Blaine Morgan obviously has the Cardinals headed in the right direction!

It was a short stint but it was eyeful to see the young men and women working hard at their craft. The athletic complex is a place I would love to get a workout in maybe kicking up some dust and letting everyone get a look-see at how the Lu gets down.

Upon entering the university I discussed my desired career with an advisor who placed me in a degree pathway that was NOT meant for my desired profession. I simply had faith in where I was placed and the coursework was close enough to not have raised suspicion. As a recent graduate, I now have a degree I cannot use and no leg to stand on as my correspondence was purely by phone. The university refuses to provide me details I have requested surrounding this error. Do your own research and be prepared to be met with incompetence rather than professionals. Maybe then your experience will be worthwhile.

Hard working students should enroll in a better school. The campus is getting more frequently dangerous. In the first quarter of. 2024 only, there are at least three robberies and assaults, one in student dorm, one in on campus meal place and one near off campus door in 5 minute walking distance. For your life, go.

5 stars for their mathematics department. The teachers are excellent, and I was very thankful to have a math major. Their engineering department gets a lot of attention, but their engineering department is not nearly as good as their …

Woman from enrollment services called and when I nicely began to let her know I was no longer interested in their program, she wouldn’t even let me finish my sentence without hanging up. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I definitely don’t want to attend this university anytime in the future now..
