Review for Ms. Amon Patterson Super Star Rating – Reynolds Community College I walked into Reynolds College unsure and overwhelmed about reentering school after many years, but meeting Ms. Amon Patterson changed everything. She was absolutely amazing kind, patient, and incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to guide me through the process and made me feel welcomed, supported, and hopeful. Her presence felt like a blessing. I’m so grateful for her help she is truly a gem! Ms. Amon Patterson gets a 5 star rating!!!!!!! Financial Aid representative Maria Clarke gets a Zero star rating see below! On July 1, 2025, at approximately 8:11 AM, I contacted the Financial Aid office and spoke with a representative who identified herself as Maria. After further review on the school website I discovered that the representative name is Maria Clarke. Unfortunately, the interaction was extremely unpleasant. Maria was disrespectful, aggressive, and unprofessional throughout the conversation. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, she responded dismissively, asking, “What do you want to speak to a supervisor for?” and became argumentative. I calmly expressed that her behavior was inappropriate, to which she sarcastically replied, “Wow.” I asked if the call was recorded, and she confirmed that it was. I strongly urge the college to review the recording, as I was spoken to in a manner that was both unprofessional and vulgar. Maria initially told me that her supervisor’s name was Denise. However, when I called back to follow up, I was informed that the supervisor on duty that day was Ms. Gillespie. This inconsistency only added to my concerns. I had reached out with a simple question regarding my Financial Aid To-Do List. Instead of receiving assistance, I was met with hostility. When I attempted to explain my concern, Maria only became more aggressive and uncooperative. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and addressed appropriately. No student should be subjected to such treatment when seeking help.

I decided to give this school a second chance after having to drop classes once because I wasn't getting questions answered about online courses. Well I ended up dropping them again because no one could help me with questions that I had and no one returned my calls or emails. Will be looking at other schools.

Great experience on campus for the first time taking my daughter to view the school before her on-campus class starts next week. Friendly, kind and helpful staff at the Information Center.

Gaining admission as an international student was seamless and easy. I'm happy to start my career journey with the college.

I’m doing the computer-aided drafting certificate at Reynolds. I’ve taken both in-person and online classes. Overall, my experience has been pleasant. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and eager to help, and at only $500 a class, the school is much cheaper than four-year schools. The campus is also close to my house, parking is ample, and the school isn’t located in a heavy traffic area. The one problem I have is, as a full time, working adult, it is sometimes hard to find classes that fit my schedule. One of the classes I need for my certificate has only been offered at 12pm during the week, and I clearly can’t take that as it’s right in the middle of my work day. In the interest of fairness, though, I’m not taking a popular certificate, so there just aren’t many classes offered.

I only have Thanksgiving day off and have work due everyday after. I thought online students are supposed to be off for the holidays too. The teachers have no respect for the students because they are enjoying their holiday but assigning work due on mine. I don't get a fall break which seems to be unfair.

I’m in my 40s and signed up for a workforce career certificate program per my advisors recommendation (and Reynolds website) but am now being told that the program doesn’t exist and never existed EVEN THOUGH ITS ON THEIR WEBSITE. This is after a month of the Advising and STEM department blowing me off and ignoring my emails and calls. I’m 5k in debt, 2 years and 1.5 semesters from an associates and oh yeah did I mention I have serious medical issues, recently lost the ability to walk, and signed up for the workforce certification program instead of going for an associates because I DONT HAVE LONG TO LIVE. The fact the STEM department feels so comfortable gas lighting the women who enroll at Reynolds really speaks for itself. This certificate was meant to be a lifeline of sorts so I can try to save some money to help my family in the time I have left and this school has been a nightmare, the whole experience has caused me extreme emotional distress. How funny of all the serious literal life or death issues swirling around me right now, the majority of my stress is coming from this program that Reynolds created to force incoming students into their associates program by tricking them into taking out loans and ruining what’s left of their future. PVCC is more expensive for a reason, this place is a joke

DO NOT ATTEND! This school seems to be run by what I would consider lower class individuals. I have been a virtual student for 2 years, and each time I bring an issue to the "faculty" (that is a GENEROUS description) they simply pass the buck to someone else. There has been no follow up, and they are simply incapable of professionalism. Their inaction has added an additional semester onto my graduation date, and I plan to unenroll next semester. DO NOT ATTEND!

When I made my decision to go to JSR, I was skeptical because of the multiple bad reviews I had read. However, I cannot tell you how far from the truth those reviews are. I had a problem with my financial aid, at first, and the two ladies that I encountered at the FA office were very nice and extremely helpful! Then, I was having trouble enrolling in two classes and it was resolved within five minutes of walking into Admissions. The woman at the front desk of the Enrollment office is great, as well! I even mentioned how surprised I was at how many bad reviews they had. Treat others as you would like to be treated, they’re all just doing their jobs.
