My son entered into the program and received a financing recommended by them and through them to see him through the course. He was told he would be able to refinance to a lower interest rate once he graduated. He was also told of a high job acceptance rate within the field once he graduated. What they don’t tell you is that their loans for the school are not tax deductible and have proven not to be refinanced at a lower rate because the school does not fall under FASFA. If you want to travel, you may have a good run. Be ready to pay out of the nose for your loan if you cannot pay up front and if you want stay local expect to be paid less then 25.00 an hour for laying fiber. My son left for a law enforcement career which should tell you he is not a person that has a character or intelligence that limits his ability.

Exceptional instructors! 250 graduates every four months, this opportunity is ok for those willing to leave their hometown and travel the country for $25 an hour? (not today)However, it’s important to remember, NLC operates as a business. I graduated NLC signed the books, applied to openings and no call. Southern California doesn’t even want you to sign the books

You will be better off signing the books as a Groundman . They train you how to compete in lineman rodeos, I’ve seen severe meaningless injuries because speed is heavily enforced, it’s no where near what the real trade is like. Don’t go to this “college” it’s a money grab, you can easily get into this trade without it. I graduated in 2018.

I went here back in 2017, it was a great experience. Been in the trade ever since. Really good program to jump you into a successful career in line work!

Bottom of the barrel line college right here. Teachers and staff push non union labor the entire time. They don’t even brush up on both sides. If you wanna be a rat your whole life then I recommend this college. If you want to be a union hand and makes barrels full of money, I recommend Volta, in Oregon. I paid good money to go to NLC and they don’t even offer you electrical transmission and distribution class. Cut rate training at a very expensive cost. Teachers were awesome. The curriculum is horrible and this place is a blemish to the trade.

Do not go to this college! It’s a scheme to get you to unknowingly enter into a contract with an apartment complex! I paid 1 months rent and went to the college for a couple weeks (mind you I lived with like 6 other people and we were all paying $800/month to share a room!) well I could not continue to go to the college because my VA payment did not go through so I dropped off my keys and let them know. Now, 2 years later my credit report is showing I owe them about $1800!!!!!! I WOULD HAVE NEVER knowingly put myself in a predicament. Also, they don’t actually help you get a job, everyone I knew from my class that actually got a job had help from a family member and it took months!

I had the best time attending NLC at the ID campus!! I went in know nothing, but with the urge to learn!! NLC taught me so much!! They not only taught me how to climb and how the electric grid works they also taught me how to write a proper resume and how to do interviews!! If you have any interest in joining the trade, NLC is a great way to kick start your career!!

I've known the staff out at NLC for nearly 11 years, and everyone I knew helped push me to become a lineworker, even being a young kid. They always would try and help in any way they could to help prepare me and help me learn about the trade. The instructors push you, and it's a tough program, but it's to make you a better person and employee. The curriculum is modern and covers everything you would need to know as a beginning pre-apprentice or groundman. If you're considering this trade- this is the place to go to school. I graduated the winter session this year. Totally worth it.

26 years in the hooks.Journeyman Lineman. Troubleman for a large utility. And now second of three generations of lineman, thanks to NWLC. Wonderful Facility, excellent teachers, quality equipment. My son said the equipment was never broke down, and that the class materials, tools and field were always quality and in top notch condition. They are not trying to maximize profit at the students expense. The facilities were always clean. The lights were always on. The instructors were always ready and willing to help, and stay late when the students requested it... On the teachers own desire. 15 weeks is not that long, when it comes to our trade. I was impressed with every facet of the school. I felt my son's GI Bill was well spent and then some. Travelling 1000 miles to see young men brim with pride at what they had accomplished was wonderful. They do a great job at showing the families what the young man accomplished. I would recommend this school at a higher cost, and completely endorse it at its currently fair price.
